Drakos Real Estate

These guys are a riot. I’m currently looking for a place to live. I found a listing online in West End that looked like it might have met my requirements. No photos of the outside posted. This means in no uncertain terms that this is a «shit box». I stare at the screen for a while and decide that I’m ok with it, and walk up the road to arrange an appointment.
The sweet receptionist tells me that I should come back at 1:30. Done. I faff about for a while, and return at 1:30. They tell me they’d forgotten about the inspection and asked me if the guys standing outside of the house (across the street) were my friends. «No friends of mine» I say. The property manager hands me the keys and tells me to make myself at home, and asks me to show the boys in while I’m there. She had to go to other inspections. I just became property manager! I pocket the keys and practice my real estate strut as I cross the road.
After inspecting the house, I head back to Drakos to give the keys back. I’m asked if I want to fill in an application. While I’m filling out all the details, they have approved someone else for the house! I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, really?
I have rented through Drakos before. They are absolutely lovely to deal with. They’re helpful, laid back, and very easy to have a lease under. The quality of the properties they have to offer isn’t crash hot a lot of the time, but they are in livable condition. The anecdote I gave, I want you to understand, was said in jest. It’s too funny a situation to do anything but laugh. I will continue to use them as my go to real estate agents.

I rented from Drakos Real Estate for 18 months and found them to be quite professional. A lot of the properties they manage are pretty dodgy (like the place I lived in and several other places on their rental list that I looked at) but the prices reflect the quality of the homes and frankly, beggars can’t be choosers. Whenever we had a problem, and there were many, they always responded quickly and did their best to fix it. I was a bit worried I wasn’t going to get the bond back after I managed to turn our bathtub brown trying to get it clean but they took into account the fact that the tub was about 40 years old and refunded the lot without a fight. While I wouldn’t recommend some of the properties they let, the real estate is a-​ok.
