A reliable little café in an area where daytime places to eat are scarce on the ground, Junie Moons offers lunches, reliably good coffee and super friendly service. You can sit in the front room looking out the windows onto Spencer Street, or wander through past the kitchen and out to the sunny courtyard out the back. The lunch menu is small but tasty, with everything made fresh on site. There’s a standard menu of about five different sandwiches, and a handful of specials written up on black cardboard above the drinks fridge. There’s usually a salad(pumpkin, kale and feta), an Asian dish(dumplings or rice paper rolls), pub type food(home made pies or a burger) and something more substantial(pasta or risotto) Serving sizes are perfect for lunchtime, and prices are very reasonable. Still feeling peckish? Use your change to buy a muffin or single serve cake to take back to the office.
