This is the home of designer homewares, art pieces, jewellery made by independent jewellers, books, and an array of other gifts. The price ranges from low to ultra-high end. There are some affordable pieces but you will need to spend time looking for them. All profits go towards the Kings Park’s grounds. The goods are beautifully presented and the staff are friendly and helpful. However the biggest downfall is that on this visit I didn’t see many WA artists. At least that’s what I thought«local artists» would mean. There are plenty of artists from throughout Australia and the work is of high quality and varied. This is at the expense of equally talented WA artists located in the regions from which much of the conservative work take place and wildflowers originates from drawing in crowds each Spring. It was so disappointing that WA artists aren’t as well displayed as I thought they would be.

Aspects of King’s Park is a wonderful gallery shop offering high quality Australian art and craft. You can choose from the huge array of unique and stunning items of ceramics, glass, prints, textiles, wood and last but not least my favourite — jewellery. Every piece is a statement! The shop is spacious and all items are well displayed. The staff are incredible — pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. In addition, all gallery profits support King’s Park!

Nestled in the heart of Kings Park, Aspects is a gallery and retail space that focuses on work by local artists. It feels like an extension of its leafy, iconic surrounds, with each product reflecting Australia’s natural environment and floral biodiversity. I can’t say I’ve ever bought anything from here, mostly because I’m not at a stage in my life where I need(or can afford) designer home-wares, but it’s nice to look. The ceramics and glass in particular are captivating in their design, and it’s interesting to see how local artists have reflected their environments. I’m a big fan of the art, garden and homes book collection here too, it seems to continue the inspiring ambiance of the place, leaving you feeling energised and refreshed. A visit to Kings Park is not complete in my opinion without sticking your head into this beautiful store.
