The service let me down on this occasion. Wasn’t super busy but still had to wait 15 mins for a takeaway coffee. It appears they serve regulars first over whoever lines up first(if u know where to line up, weird setup). No credit card accepted also.

Great little coffee shop, with the nicest staff/owner going around. They certainly know how to make a great coffee I must say. Always enjoy going down to get my morning heart starter.

Awesome little hideaway, with amazing coffee. The girls behind the coffee machine give me faith in humanity. I made the mistake of only having my card on me one lunch break, & as they don’t have eftpos facilities she gave me a shrug of the shoulders and willingly said«pay me back another day!». As promised I went back the following week, paid my dues and had another beautifully made coffee. Love it.

I actually came across Pony Express O by mere accident. I was looking for a completely different establishment and out of nowhere, I happen to spot Pony Express. Glad I had my contacts in, or I would’ve missed this quirky, little café, that’s tucked away off the main road and this review would’ve never been written. Hopefully the fact that’s it’s essentially hidden, means they’re hiding some righteous brew, and yes they definitely were. The atmosphere at Pony Express is definitely spot on, the owner is amazingly polite, helpful and obviously knows his coffee. I love the chill vibe. It’s not crazy hectic and you can actually hear yourself talk and think. The coffee was definitely great, strong, but obviously brewed from some amazingly delish Arabica beans. There were just a couple guys working there, obviously taking pride in what they do, and definitely up for a chat, if you got the time. Just relax, enjoy your delicious cup of brew and be happy that you were actually able to find this place. Memo to Pony Exoress O: I would suggest a map to those looking to come here. If you’ve never been here, I reckon you’ll drive by it a dozen times, so you might as well park, get your ass out of your car and search for it. With enough effort you’ll find it and it will definitely be worth the expedition. Coffee was an 8.5 /10, whilst the service was easily a 10⁄10. Highly recommend if you like your coffee strong with as much milk as you desire. The selections are definitely on point.

I agree with the above comments on location and atmosphere but I can’t say I had good service or coffee here. I ordered 2 coffees to have there and received 2 take aways. I’m a soy drinker and they used a terrible soy milk which came out curdled and foul tasting, I couldn’t drink it.

I can’t help but give this place 5 stars. It is simple and delivers the ‘artisan coffee’ experience very well with a great atmosphere and service. My coffee was about an 8 out of 10, very good but not the best I have had. Service, however, was a clear 10 out of 10 and up there with the best spots I have been to in Perth. Our host worked to find us a seat in the crowded stables and not only delivered a good coffee but also a very passable green tea. But what I love most is how Unilocal, mobile devices and Google maps makes these places possible. Without it, only the office workers in the nearby buildings would know about this spot; and that would be a tragedy.

LOVE This place. Great coffee, great people, it’s relaxed and inviting, stay and have a chat, bring breakfast first thing or your laptop to get away from the office. They’re fantastic here & everyone is welcome… if you can find it ;)

«You only get one shot in life, here you get two»; are the words marked on a sign inside this hard to find coffee bar. The message made me smile, a trip to Pony O always does. Pony Express O is buried down lane off Mayfair Street. It’s the ‘Where’s Wally?’ of espresso bars and I had to ask three strangers for directions before I found it the first time. Set in a heritage horse stable, with long wooden bench, green faux-grass floors, and an original approach to service, this espresso bar is truly unique. The structure can be a bit disorientating; the boundaries between customer space and staff space are thrown out the window. The layout lets you actually get amongst the barista’s workspace. You’ll find yourself having a joke with one of the friendly barista chicks as she makes your coffee next to you. Pretty cool. Of course the coffee here is amazing too. Really, really, really good. I’m sorry I can’t communicate it in more words. All you need to know is Pony Express O is one of the city’s best-kept secrets(for now), and is my personal Numero Uno for Coffee in Perth.
