I’ve lived in Wheelers Hill for 13 years now and have seen this shop go from one owner to new owners about 3 years ago. I was a bit worried that the hot chips, which we are big fans of, would lose their quality. Thankfully, they haven’t. The chicken is not dry, I fact I use the leftovers the next day in a roll for lunch and it’s still good. I do feel the pricing is a tad on the high side.

This place has been there for awhile, but I’d only recently discovered it after doing some shopping at the supermarket. I grabbed a quarter of chicken and chips, and a roll from the bakery, took it home and had a chicken roll. I was quite pleasantly surprised. I’ve got such a fantastic chicken shop that I regularly go to that is a bit easier to get to, but this is a real good place to get a chicken. The chooks are juicy and tender, and the chips are well seasoned. The guys behind the counter aren’t the chattiest people in the world, but they’re more than friendly enough for a takeaway place. If I was planning a cheap and easy picnic at Jells Park, and I didn’t really want to put too much effort into preparing my own food, I’d be stopping here first, for sure. Good place. Recommended.

Average at best. I’ve been in here a few times, and every time I have been disappointed. Dry chicken, over salted chips, sad looking salads. The only positive I can pull from this place is the staff have always been friendly and the place is clean. Not one to recommend.
