Visited Gopi Curry Leaf purely for curry in a hurry! Got a regular half-half of mixed vegetable curry and curried potatoes for $ 9. Both were mild in flavour. Wish the mixed vegetable curry had more vegetables than sliced string beans and peas though. Nevertheless, it was still pretty tasty in my opinion. Not overly rich which some curries can be. Saw freshly made roti being wrapped up. Will definitely return to try more dishes & the teh tarik in store with my family and friends :) not fussed with the low key setting.

I love this place, it’s close to home and the food has been great both times we have been! It’s a true family business and the kids are about helping out, I really like the family feel. My favourite thing about Copi Curry Leaf is that the owner makes the roti in front of u so you know it is fresh and it’s cool watching him cook them too. You can see the curries in the Bain Marie so you can choose the curry you want. Tonight I had roti channai with beef curry and N had masala dosa, both were fresh and authentic. We also had a mango lassi and Pepsi max and all came to $ 17.30 — seriously?! That’s ridiculously cheap for such authentic food! We can’t wait to go back to try the breakfast menu that starts at 7.30 :)

You know that quaint little place you spy out the corner of your eye, and you have no idea whether or not the food is good, because no one else has tried it, so you’re curious and one day you try it out and you’re blown away? This is it. Gopi Curry Leaf is, visually speaking, overly underwhelming. You walk in, and everything you see makes you think twice about walking in. But then the smell hits you, and your curiosity is peaked. I went with a friend after trying Lezat from next door(also well worth going), and had a combination of dahl, beef vindaloo, and lamb rogan josh. Oh, and also a side of murtabak with a homemade ice tea to top it off. Dayyyyyyyyyum son, this food was legit. I’m a pretty big fan of curries, and this place really hit the spot. It really goes to show you can’t judge a cover by the cook, and any doubts I had about walking into the place instantly melted with that first bite of vindaloo. I couldn’t even finish all the murtabak and had to take it away, but I tell you what. If I had to do it all again I would still overorder. Oh, and the ice tea? REALLY hit the spot. 3 for 3. If you can put aside your hesitation about the depressing wallpaper and cheap furnishings, you are going to REALLY surprised at how much you want to go back.
