The smell of lavender wafting along Willoughby Road draws your attention to Liley & Liley which looks like a gift store taken straight out of a quaint country town. Liley & Liley is designed for the girly girl — there are frilly aprons, sparkly jewels, rose scented candles, teapots, bedding and even dolls. The dominant theme here is without a doubt pink. It is all done in a very charming way however, plus there is the occasional touch of red or white which brings it all back down to earth. Liley & Liley also stock a surprisingly nice array of women’s clothing (for example, they stock Metalicus) so in a way you could consider it a gift shop/​boutique. Even if you’re not partial to pink then a trip in here is still worthwhile.

If you are looking for a coat hanger rack this is a good place to start. There’s a lot in here that has that girly Parisian house flavour to it. The tree tier white cake stands, the black glimmering beads, a glass bird shaped paper weights and fake open roses in abundance — it’s a shop for middle class mums who like white crockery and feminine cottage style furnishings.
It’s not too pricey either. I bought a large white milk jug vase as a gift for $ 35.
The Monday girl (a chatty woman who’s name escapes me) is friendly and helpful.
