A local for us. Dragged some girlfriends from Qld there recently, prior to going to airport and they loved the coffee! Food was next and they raved… They still talk about going back when they’re not so much in a rush next time. Walk our dogs down here every weekend for a takeaway coffee. Yes, it’s true unfortunately, packed on weekends but you’ll be seated maximum in 20. Food is worth the wait and the coffee, well, you gotta have more than one!

The Incinerator location has been around for many years now with new management. Overall this reviewer can only give them a one star or less. Good location near a park but it’s seat yourself. When we arrived were waiting at front with no attention whatsoever. Only asking a waiter that advised seat yourself. Seating is a premium and not enough seating area at all. Inside is a rustic-country style furniture but incredible noisy. Give that a pass. Service attention very poor — no one attends to you and, of course, when order arrived it was wrong. There are 6 main dishes available and our hungry group wanted the Angus burger — «sorry were sold out» at about 12.30 lunch. Salads and the hand cut chunky chips with rosemary/sea salt were really good. Sadly, the whole luncheon experience at The Incinerator was a let down and went up in smoke!

There was a queue up at the door, because the word had gotten around, that The Incinerator was the latest place to head to for a weekend brunch up north of the Bridge… I’d been recommended by a couple of people to head to this out of the way spot, near the aquatic centre and playing fields in Willoughby, and then unfortunately it received a good review in the newspaper just before I headed. Unfortunately as it meant it was very busy… When we arrived, there were a couple of spare tables outside, and I though at first we could sit straight down. But no, instead we had to wait by the door, with the manager taking names and a description(«red shoes» for the girl in front), before calling out. Our 10 minutes wait turned into about 20 minutes, despite a few free tables outside and in. Finally, we were seated at a table inside that had been sitting free for awhile. As it was obviously busy, understandably it took awhile for our food orders to arrive. It had just switched over to the lunch menu, so I ordered the special of mussels. The mussels were excellent, some of the largest I’ve ever had, although it ended up being a bit small, given the price. My husband predictably had a burger, which he reported to be very tasty, although strangely it had potato chips(i.e. crisps) on the side. The other letdown was that despite an endless stream of waiters and waitresses passing us by, it took quite a while to settle the bill. Good food, but when I return hopefully it’s a bit less busy or more organised. DOGTIP: There were plenty of pooches sitting with their owners at the outside tables.

This is a great building its a good place to stop for a coffee after walking the dog in Tunks park. There is inside and outdoor seating. They have gluten free bread for the sandwiches. The green juice is tasty and health the chips are tasty and enormous.

So I have seen a few reviews of this place, and have always intended to go. And then I was told that they serve coffee from the Grounds in Alexandria, and then I knew that I had to go. This is place is fantastic! And a lot of that has to do with the location. In an old cottage in the middle of the park, this place is beautiful. The coffee is good, as it is from the Grounds. They do take away coffee and food from a kiosk outside the actually café — warning, there is a line so you’ll be waiting a little bit for your coffee. The food in the actual café is great. First, you have to understand that the menu is quite small, there isn’t that much variation. But when you do it well, that’s all that matters. The only problem was there was only one vegitarian option, and we had a vegitarian in our company. But that one dish was brilliant, so all were satisfied.

Lovely atmosphere, great service, order the chips, but don’t have high expectations for the mains. The customer service and experience is positive — we went for a rainy Sunday lunch around 1pm, there are enough staff(a team of 10 – 12) for orders to be taken, coffees made and food on the table quickly. Very little waiting around needed. Not sure what it’d be like on a busier sunny day, but I was impressed by level of service. I specifically liked the owners/managers checking in with everything — nice personalisation. Food: — the roast chicken quinoa salad, — roast barramundi, — steak sandwich and — hand cut chips The best was the chips, well cooked — nice texture and seasoning. The roast chicken was a bit dry and in general the salad had too much meat, and not enough greens for me. The barramundi was standard — I liked that it wasn’t over salted. I wasn’t particularly fond of the purple potato mash that accompanied it — it had a tangy dressing which didn’t make me swoon. The steak sandwich had good quality meat, although it came with Smiths crisps — for a gourmet $ 20+ meal, we all thought that was a tacky add on. Would go back, maybe for brekky — actually surprised there’s no all day menu on weekends!
