It’s wonderful to find traditional craftspeople working in South Australia … there aren’t many Mastercraftspeople here, so they should be supported and encourage whenever we find them! I was delighted to visit here as part of the Unilocal Willunga Wonders tour — what a treat to find a glass artist in Willunga! The premises is divided in two — the glass studio/workshop out the back, and the gallery in the front. During our visit we created our own glass coasters, but I would have loved to have seen him in action! Glenn(who has been a glass artist — mainly self taught — for the last 20 years) explained that it takes days to set up the furnace for glass blowing! It was wonderful to be given an insight into how much work it takes to create a piece. Glenn’s work is for sale in the gallery section — while a lot of it wasn’t to my taste, there were a few more modern pieces(some very striking black and white glass!) that were absolutely gorgeous, and I may very well be saving up for ;)
