A great little bar on the Windsor end of Chapel Street. When I went here for the first time I was immediately struck by the low lights, the groovy music and the dressed up bar staff. While I only had a glass of red when I visited, I was given a complimentary popcorn to munch on while I enjoyed the grapes. The cocktails looked good.

Is it a bar or is it a restaurant? Is my question. Was out for dinner and stumbled across kid Boston. The interior and atmosphere is great. We sat in the ambient courtyard which was pumping some great funk. The portrait mural in the courtyard is awesome. The food fare offers small plates and share plates. The food is really nice the pork belly was melt in the mouth. The mushroom tagliatelle was rich and creamy(probably could do with more). The only thing is it takes SOLONG to get the food. I’m talking a 30 – 40 minute wait at one stage between dishes. Granted, they were busy, so others in here were in the same boat as us. To their credit they did offer us free cocktails. The staff are super friendly and am loving them. The cocktails were strong and well made. So I’d say this is more of bar with good food, rather than a restaurant. Come here for relaxing and delicious cocktails and food on the side. If you’ve got time, it’s worth it.

Dropped in for a drink before dinner and was impressed by the friendly service of the staff as well as the stellar quality of the cocktails served. Nice dark room which added to the welcoming atmosphere and was well suited to the cold Melbourne night. Although it’s been open for ages this was my first visit and I will definitely be going back.

Kid Boston is a great place to stop for cocktails while swanning around Chapel Street. It has the right mix of casual, cool and classy with a more unusual cocktail list(plenty of twists on classics). Service is peppy and attentive, although our food took a noticeably long time to come out. Dishes came one by one with quite some time between them(although perhaps we weren’t too clear on the whole not sharing thing…) The food was okay and probably the more disappointing part of our visit. The menu focuses on share dishes and smaller plates, but the servings didn’t quite hit what we expected them to be in terms of quality(we were particularly disappointed by the kingfish ceviche and buffalo wings). Nevertheless, the cocktails more than made up for it.

One of my fave bars in Windsor. Cozy décor, killer alcohol list and quirky menu hits the spot. The outside section is perfect for Friday drinks after work — grab a cider, share a cheese platter and rejoice the working week is over.

Been going to this place for some time now. The boys have done a great job and if you’re into both food and beverages, you have come to the right place. It’s no doubt why this place was provided top 10 cheap eats in Melbourne. Food is divine and you will leave with a happy tummy. Then there are the drinks… the boys can spin up something special. Adam, Kenny or Ryan, will create some magic behind the bar for your liking… I guarantee it!

This classy little bar with well executed cocktails and friendly barkeeps is a good choice for those who want to avoid the trashy meat market establishments that litter Chapel Street. My blueberry martini was lovely and it came with a welcoming side of fresh popcorn. Service was effusive, attentive and prompt. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the food at Kid Boston. The much Unilocaled about kingfish ceviche was decent if unexciting and I thought the pork belly with orange caramel sauce was waaaay too heavy and sweet. It came with a scatter of undressed endive leaves which did nothing to alleviate the gratuitous sweetness of the syrup/greasiness of the meat. The dish would have benefited with a fresh, tart side(maybe some pickled fruit or a proper salad of endive) to sharpen the flavours and allow for some respite from the heaviness of the pork and caramel sauce. Great drinks and service means that this a nice little joint to stop at for a cocktail on the way to the Astor or after a spot of shopping on Chapel. I have a feeling that there are a few really quality dishes on the menu, however I was let down by the two dishes that I ordered.

I love bars like this. Where you’re made to feel so welcome and the drinks taste so good, that you end up staying(and often spending!) well past what you anticipated. The bf and I perched at the bar for one drink… stayed for three and ordered the delicious kingfish ceviche while we were at it. In between orders, they kept us topped up with little bowls of fresh spiced popcorn. Ryan behind the bar kept us company and was just an all-round awesome guy. We will definitely be back.

BESTBAR/RESTAURANT INWINDSOR. This place is really«as good as it gets.» I can’t rave about how much I love this place. The ambiance is trendy but friendly and approachable. The music has always been ambiant lounge or chill old-school hip hop. The owner/bartender can create the perfect craft cocktails. You can order off the menu, or just say something along the lines of «I like gin and something sour,» and BOOM! There’s a superbly shaken drink for you. On the menu, I recommend the Pisco Sour, Kiwi Bramble, and the Boulevardier as an appertif. Off the menu, ask for an Earl Grey Martini. The best drink if you want something sweet, but not too sweet. Both my missus and I LOVEIT. As for the food, it’s also stunning. I find it hard to eat at Kid Boston because my jaw drops, weighing down by flavour and texture. I recommend the Kingfish Ceviche, Warm Calamari Salad, and the Crispy Pork Belly. Try those three and you can’t go wrong. Places like Kid Boston make Windsor the best part of Chapel Street. And it’s across the street from the Windsor train station, so you can drag yourself back to the city(or Sandringham!) any night of the week. Overall, GETYOURBUTTTOKIDBOSTON!
