History

Established in 2003.

Dr Meredith’s wish was to start up a warm caring community minded practice that had a focus on excelling in customer service. Dr Meredith was hoping to provide a family style of veterinary practice where all pets were treated with compassion and respect. Dr Meredith wanted her clients to know that their pet was valued and loved by her and her staff, just as much as if it were one of their own. This attitude has won Wilston Vet several awards over the years including the Quest «Business Achievers Award» and the ‘AVA Practice of Excellence Award.” The practice has grown from three employees in 2003 to the sixteen it employees today, and it has become a integral part of the Wilston-Windsor-Grange community.

Business Owner

Dr Meredith graduated from the University of QLD in 1990. She then spent 2 years in mixed practice in country NSW. Here Meredith was able to experience a diverse range of vet procedures including delivering calves and foals. She then spent 2 years doing small animal work in the UK. On returning, Meredith worked at a small animal hospital in Brisbane for 4 years before branching out on her own and setting up Wilston Vet. Meredith also participates in community events such as the local school fête’s «Doggy Parade», visiting schools and kindergartens to teach youngsters about pet care, as well as participating in council’s «Doggy Days» in the park. Meredith organises the Kedron Brook Business Group, a group of 40 local business owners that meet once a month to discuss ways to positively impact the local community as well as share business tips. Meredith gained her membership in Small Animal Medicine in 1999 and is currently studying to become a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner.
