A must-stop destination when visiting Sydney! Incredible rolls and mouthwatering chicken! Great salad options and just great food for anytime of the day!

Lovely food. Great burgers and salads. staff are very accommodating albeit poorly trained when it comes to the demanding eastern suburbanite stay at home mums. Having a shocker recently as the famous wedges are raw in the centre. We had this for 4 weeks straight and rung them. The response was less than sympathetic, instead blaming their supplier for a change in season and potato density — spare me! I think they’re believing their own press and have lost some quality which now no longer warrants premium prices.

Okay so I gave it 5 stars but… the last couple of times we had take away, the orders were incorrect and not hot. I figure that at this point 2 out of a cazillion times that I’ve had their food is more that pretty good! Should my food continue to be served *not* piping hot and should my orders continue to be served wrong then… well, then I’ll be back here on Unilocal to tell everyone!!! Until then, here are a few of my thoughts: Salads are good. Sandwiches are great! Everything is fresh and to order(see above!) I’ve actually had chicken sandwiches at one or two other eateries around town and Chargrill Charlie’s is just better than the rest. I definitely recommend this place for everyone!

I’m usually in here about once a week grabbing a(mostly) healthy dinner to go. They have good salads and chicken, and I love the thin cut fries(chiips). Make sure to get a ticket with a number on it(on the right when you walk in), so you don’t just wait a long time for nothing.

J’aime cuisiner, mais cet endroit me perdra ;-)

Okay I have to confess that I have not eaten here since I lived in Sydney in 2009 but I HAD to find this restaurant on Unilocal to Rave about it because I STILL think about the delicious chicken! They have AMAZING… and I mean AMAZING chicken sandwiches and salads. Everything looks so fresh and there is much variety with the flavors. You must try this if you are in the area. One day, I will return to Sydney and will once again enjoy this amazing food that now I can only dream about :)

If you’re a local in the area, Chargrill is pretty much your local chef, as there’s not much point getting any other form of takeaway, it’s got everything, and everything is pretty darn good. Some say that its the best chargrilled chicken in Sydney, and I think it’s definitely up there in the top 2 or 3, although I more of a portuguese chicken style guy. The staff are always very friendly, and funnily enough, it’s actually quite easy to get a parking spot close by. I’m not too sure why, but recently they have tried to serve everything from salads to thai food, and every style of chicken in between. Unfortunately, I think this can be a risky decision, as no one(business) can be that brilliant — but Charlie’s will try…

Thank you Chargrill Charlie, you have saved my life many a time. Ok, life may be stretching the truth a touch but I really like this place as it’s a quick way to grab some food without much effort. Actually the hardest part is deciding what to get and queueing up for it. If I’m too lazy or tired to cook this is one of my first port of calls and depending on my mood, they’ll have something to cater for me here. BBQ Chicken, burgers, fresh rolls, salads, schnitzels, vegetables. It’s all right in front of you to see and all you have to do is narrow it down! Thanks Chargrill Charlie’s and I’ll see you soon.

The best chicken place in Sydney is Chargrill Charlie’s in Woollahra. They serve the best chicken dishes that you’ll ever get to eat. Home-style meals that are made fresh every day made with the freshest ingredients are what you’ll get when you visit this place. They make the yummiest chips and their Chicken Pad Thai is absolutely delicious. The staff are always friendly, ready to greet you with a smile. The portions are really generous so you get great value for your money. And if you don’t believe how great their food is, let me tell you that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban get their chicken from this place. So if you want some great-tasting, healthy food or if you’re just craving for some chicken, stop by Chargrill Charlie’s. You won’t regret it.

I first decided to check out Charlie’s just after Oprah’s tour of Australia. I’d just heard the news from a local that Miss O herself had stopped in for some lunch while in town.(Anywhere Oprah goes has just got to be good!) It turned out that Oprah didn’t just go to grab lunch for herself, but also went in to pick up and shout lunch for the crew and group of people she’d been working with for the morning, aw! Heart warming story, and real hearty food. Charlie’s is basically a high end take away chicken shop that has attracted a huge local following with it’s quality, tasty food. The range of mouth watering food is excellent: Chicken(with no steroids, hormones or chemicals), delicious Hot Chip, Wedges, a huge range of fresh Salads, Roast Beef or Lamb, Roast Veggies, Cauliflower and Cheese, Lasagne, Pasta Bakes, Casseroles, Curries, Hamburgers, Chicken Burgers, Egg and Bacon Rolls, and more. My picks are the Mango and Chicken Salad, the Greek salad, the Roast Lamb roll or the amazing Chicken pie(with no base, on a tin, so the pastry is all the nice crunchy top pastry!), and of course, the chicken here is great. Home style cooking, fresh and delicious, if you’re after a good take away meal just ask yourself — What Would Oprah Do?

This is the best place to grab a healthy, top quality and seriously delicious lunch. Choose from salads, sandwiches, rolls, baguettes, curries, soups and stews. Being a family-run business, Chargrilled Charlies has a relaxed and genuine atmosphere — you don’t just feel like another figure for the statistics of a huge fast-food chain. The staff are friendly, always willing to try to help you choose if you’re having a dilemma between the roast chicken roll or the roast chicken salad, and the service is super-quick. As if this wasn’t enough, it’s reassuring to know that their food is healthy, hygenic and good quality. They’ve invested, engineered and patented their own unique rotisserie: the ‘Radiant 2000′. Their roast chicken baguette with salad and mayo is my favourite — eat it whilst it’s still warm, the baguette is generously filled with succulent chicken and crispy skin. But don’t just take my word for it… Nigella Lawson is also reportedly a fan.

Want to dine out like a star? Then come to Chargrill Charlies! This casual take-away chicken and rice and salad joint is — and the whole thing is kind of hilarious — «Celebrity Central» as evidenced by the photos along the wall with pictures of movie stars and talk show shosts dropping in(Oprah! Hugh Jackman! Russell Crowe!) which, who knows, maybe gives it a bit of food industry-cred. But nevermind the celebrities(really, don’t mind them) because the food is what everyone is there for(ostensibly, because, again, who knows?). It’s cheap, quick grab-and-go food. You can get a quarter or half chicken and be on your way or put a bun between the chicken with lettuce and tomatoes to make a chicken burger or you can put it in a long roll or you can get the Indonesian rice with chicken schnitzel or get a half chicken or a whole chicken with wanton salad or avocado salad or pesto pasta or roasted potatoes. Whatever you want. Take note, though, there are only a total of about 4 seats here so make other arrangements for seating if you can. And take a number if it’s busy. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Decisions. Decisions. It’s a tough one in Chargrill Charlies — wall to wall of finger lickin’ chicken goodness. Burgers… home-style meals like roast chook, casseroles… curries… pasta… a smörgåsbord of gourmet chicken salads… How would I like my chicken tonight? It’s a fairly basic question, but boy is it a toughy? A kitchen full of keen staff hassling for your order adds even more pressure, so it pays to have a fair idea of what you’re up for before entering. Oddly, the wall is blanketed with an impressive collection of photos starring celebrities inside this surprising megastar haunt. Take some time out from your big decision and check out the who’s who of big name CC fans, which even includes Oprah. Go figure. Chicken wise, I usually go the tandoori salad. Once your agonising choice has been made, take chook purchase to nearest park and create instant picnic, or pull up a bar height pew in the breezy open window front and watch Queen Street saunter by. Whatever you do, don’t leave your credit card here or they might stick it up on the wall and advertise«Is this your card?» Happened to a forgetful(and publicly humiliated), friend of mine.
