We don’t always have time for a long lunch and for some a job on the road means that stopping off for 20 is all the time needed to get a quick lunch. Cap Bakery is located in Buranda near the Princess Alexandra Hospital. It’s a small bakery and coffee shop but beware because at lunch time it gets absolutely packed. This is of course a good thing on one hand because it pays some tribute to the food and service of the bakery. They do have a great lunch time deal this is hard to pass up, almost all of the deals such a pie and coke for 5 dollars or a fresh sandwich and coke for 5 dollars. Being that it is a bakery the pies and sausage rolls are great when you can get hold of them and although they are pretty standard fillings the quality is what makes them. The sandwiches are also good as the bread is freshly baked in house. They have a range of fillings to choose from so it is not just the standard ham and cheese or salad sandwiches. Some of them have and Asian inspired twist such as BBQ pork or chicken and lemongrass. If you are a pastry fan you should also be wary because once you taste one of their croissants or cakes you will be hooked. This is a family owned business which is good to see as it has become somewhat rare. This also ensures the same great service across every one that works there.
