Stayed here for business travel over from the states. As a previous reviewer stated, there is a language barrier for those of us who do not speak german. As a loud American, I only had one moment when I felt like part of the staff was being somewhat rude, laughing vehemently in the back office while I asked a question that the desk worker could not answer.
The food was spectacular, especially breakfast. The barkeep was incredibly friendly, so that was a plus. The Austrian pancakes as desert for dinner were also very good.
All room literature is in mostly German, with very little English explanation; I even got a free pass to some type of local activity but it was completely in German… So it didn’t hold much value for me.
Relatively quick taxi ride to janbach, so that was convenient.
I’ll give this hotel a 4 star rating but I can’t say that anything in particular really stood out or that the staff attempted to go the extra mile.

Resort is very clean and the room is pretty spacious with tons of storage. The beds are well two twin beds with separate blankets for each bed — so yay for no one can complain that you are a blanket thief.
If you are English speaking — the language barrier is going to be challenging, but it isn’t impossible as the staff does understand English. I would say that the Day staff is definitely better than the evening shift — but I must give them plenty of props for trying and being extremely pleasant and welcoming at the same time.
It is very worthwhile to get half-​board, when booking this place during the «shoulder» season like we did because next to nothing is open in the village — because you are immediately here during after golf closes and there isn’t enough snow on the slopes for skiing — so everyone in the village pretty much takes a vacation.
Few annoyances — the schedule & most of the documentation in the room is mostly in German, and there doesn’t seem to be much offered in English for those of us, who are linguistically challenged (aka me and the boy) so we had trouble trying to figure out what we could to use in the room and at the resort without extra charges. The schedule they have listed when you check in in german, but since they have free wifi in room and at the resort (ask at Front desk for the codes 1 ticket per device) you should be able to use google translate to cover off the shortfalls.
They have parking underground for a fee — when we went it was € 9 a night.
The drive here was beautiful — even if it is a bit remote. But the view you can not get any better unless you are at another similar resort; since you are at the edge of the Achensee, with your back to the Austrian Alps — absolutely unbelievable view.
Standouts were definitely the spa and activity staff — Adrian, Theresa and Sarah really made our stay quite enjoyable. We booked a ½ hr couples side by side massage with them, which included a private room with a nice pedestal tub for two, and a sauna and shower, with chocolates, lounge bed and sparkling wine. The price wasn’t too bad, and it was super mellow. Than after you finish your massage, you can chill out by the fire, while they bring you tea.
The restaurant, breakfast is quite good and they offer quite a selection. However dinner if you didn’t get the half-​board, it is a bit of a miss — I mean I see what they are trying to do, but somehow the food just falls a bit short of the pretty presentation. I would almost prefer to see something a bit more homey and down to earth, rather than foam topped something. The restaurant servers are mostly nice, with the exception of one guy, who was rude, if not slightly arrogant, to me and the boy on our first night in the restaurant. The view of the restaurant faces the lake, and it’s really relaxing in the morning to be staring at the mountains and lake, while sipping a morning cup of caffeine infused drinks. I would say try and get one of the nice booths in the middle tier of the restaurant.

Ein echt sehr schönes Hotel direkt am Achensee! Es wirbt damit, dass es das einzige Hotel sei, welches sich direkt am Achensee befindet (hab ich natürlich nicht überprüft).
Allerdings ist es schon schön, wenn man vom Freiluft-​Whirlpool (bei geschätzten –5 Grad Lufttemperatur und geschätzten +36 Grad Wassertemperatur) direkt auf den See blicken kann.
Das Hotel hat sich hauptsächlich dem Wellness versprochen. Natürlich kommen hier auch Golfer, Wanderer und Skifahrer auf ihre Kosten. Das Management setzt auf Nachhaltigkeit und gesunde Ernährung mich Lebensmitteln aus der Region.
Was von außen ein wenig wie eine Kuranstalt, bietet innen eine wohlig warme Atmosphäre, da viel mit Holz und warmen Farben gearbeitet wurden.
Der Spa-​Bereich ist wunderschön, bietet so einiges:
— eine Vielfalt an Saunen (Bio, Normal, Finnisch, Licht)
— eine Solegrotte und ein Dampfbad
— eine Tropical Rain-​Dusche (nicht die ⁰⁸⁄₁₅ Version aus dem Praktiker, sondern eine 1,5 x
1,5 Meter große, quadratische Duschvorrichtung in ca. 4 Metern Höhe, dass prasselt schön)
— Eine Innen/​Außenpool bei dem man von drinnen nach draußen schwimmen kann
(allerdings nix für Bahnenschwimmer)
— eine Außenwhirlpool
— ein Ruheraum (wo es auch grössten Wert drauf gelegt wird, dass es dort ruhig ist) mit
Aussicht auf dem Achensee.
— ein Kaminzimmer
— diverse Lümmelsuiten (eine Art Himmelbett zum Hinlümmeln für 2 Personen)
— ein riesen Anwendungsbereich mit Gymnastikraum, Privatsuiten (mit eigener Sauna,
Blubber-​Badewanne und Lümmelbereich in einem Raum)
und noch einige Sachen, die ich hier bestimmt vergessen habe. Wir hatten jeder 3 Anwendungen bebucht und waren sehr zufrieden. Weiterhin werden täglich noch Stunden in Pilates, Yoga, Qi Gong, Klangmeditation usw. kostenlos angeboten (jeweils nur 1 – 2 mal die Woche, d.h. es wird nicht jeden Tag Yoga angeboten). Natürlich gibt es auch kostenpflichtige Angebote (wie Rodeln am Berg, geführte Wanderungen usw.).
Was das Essen angeht, ist man hier auch gut versorgt. Bei dem Genuss-​Plus-​Paket hat man ein Frühstücksbuffet vom Feinsten und ein 4-​Gänge-​Abendmenü (mit 3 Möglichkeiten zur Auswahl –Fleisch, Fisch, Vegetarisch) dabei. Zwischendrin gibt es eine sog. Nachmittagsjause (Kuchen, Salate, ein warmes Gericht) in Buffetform. Im SPA-​Bereich gibt es immer Tee und div. Wässer zu trinken, Nachmittags gibt ein Müslibuffet.
Das Personal ist allzeit freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die wenigsten kommen jedoch auch der Region, sondern sind zumeist Deutsche (also Preissn, keine Bayern ;-). Dies wirkt inmitten der österreichischen Idylle etwas komisch, stört aber nicht.
Parkplätze gibt s leider nur in der hoteleigenen Tiefgarage für 9 € die Nacht. Insgesamt ist das Hotel jedoch nicht sehr teuer. Wir haben pro Person 617 € für 5 Übernachtungen Genuß-​Plus-​Paket (entspricht ¾-​Pension) und drei Anwendungen bezahlt (gebucht im Reisebüro).
Wir waren in der Nebensaison dort, d.h. im Ort war tote Hose, allerdings gibt es in 100 Meter Entfernung einen Supermarkt, der für Leute, die besondere Wünsche haben, einigermaßen gut gerüstet ist (bei mir war s einfach, ich brauchte Zigaretten). Bei den ZImmern kann man wählen zwischen Bergseite und Seeseite. Bei Seiten haben einen schöné Aussicht (die zum See hin natürlich eine Spur schön€€r). Allerdings sollte man beachten, dass ab Mai eines jeden Jahres die Seeseite eine Anlegestelle der Tiroler Schifffahrt beheimatet. Inwieweit dies störend sein könnte, muss jeder selbst wissen. Außerdem befindet sich auf der Seeseite auf der Außenwhirlpool, der ab 8 Uhr (glaube ich) zur Verfügung steht und natürlich auch eine Geräuschkulisse bietet.
Ansonsten war es im Hotel sehr ruhig, man konnte richtig lange schlafen, ohne durch Putzpersonal geweckt zu werden (das ggf. auch im Nebenraum
arbeitet). Es gibt sogar die Möglichkeit eines Langschläferfrühstücks, dass bis 13 Uhr auf dem Zimmer geliefert wird (5 €-Aufpreis).
Ich finde dieses Hotel ist ein idealer Rückzugsort für 2 – 3 Nächte, an dem man Entspannen kann, ohne weit Reisen zu müssen (zumindest von München aus; ca. 1,5 Stunden).
So es ist aber genug, ich wollte eigentlich keine Werbebroschüre schreiben, aber es hat mir wirklich gut gefallen!
