Was travelling in Vienna looking for some decent but also affordable Chinese food and found this place not far from where we were staying and not far from Stephansplatz. The menu was decently priced for Vienna, diverse and included many great menu deals for couples and groups. Serving sizes were more than fair for the price and the service was great, delivered a good homey family run feel. Definitely recommend!

First off, Mandarin breaks Chinese restaurant stereotypes in two big ways — hygiene and healthiness. Of all the two-dollar sign Chinese restaurants I’ve been to, this is the cleanest place and it’s not even close! And in terms of healthiness, none of the dishes featured infamous Chinese restaurant MSG or grease. We decided to go with one of their combo platters for 4, and the portions were so big we did not even come close to finishing — you’ll definitely be able to tell that you’re in Central Europe as the dishes were loaded with meat. We liked the sweet and sour pork and the crispy duck, but next time I’d probably pass on the curry pork as it was pretty bland. We then finished the combo with some deep fried bananas — pretty awesome if you can forget about all that trans fat… There was a nice mix of locals and tourists, and the waiter could speak German, English and Mandarin(duh) as needed. Service was fast too, despite only having one waiter between a handful of tables. If you get the craving for Chinese food in Vienna, I’d suggest you consider Mandarin!

Great quality food. I would order their spring roles and shark fin soup first. For the main course I had their excellent fried rice, pork, crispy duck, and their curried fish. All these dishes were amazing and are highly recommended. For those beef loves the crispy beef is to die for, based of the other fellow tourists reactions. The service is a little slower because it is understaffed but that shouldn’t take away from the experience.
