Café d’Anvers

The worst club I’ve ever went to. I read all of the other nice reviews and I was expecting this to be a really nice club. Once I walked in, the whole club was filled with cigarette smoke that made me want to puke. Even though there was a no smoking sign, still nobody really cared. The floor was gross, dirty cement full of holes that had water in them. My boyfriend and I dressed up really nice and later we realized we overdressed since all of other people really just wore t-​shirts and sweatpants. Music was horrible as well, the same beat all over and over again, even upstairs music wasn’t good either. I guess this is a great place for junkies to go to. There’s not even a single thing I liked in this club. well maybe the drinks, but they were just as good as in any other club/​bar. And the entrance cover was 15 euros per person. what a waste of money, never going there again.

Wow. Show up an hour in, and you’re in for a great time. Amazing styling, location, crowd, proximity to bars, everything I could ask for. It might be the perfect night out. Just make sure you enjoy a few drinks outside the club before you go in. The «poker chip» system of drinks will keep you poor and sober. 2 floors of awesome, awesomeness. Definitely coming back.

A club in the middle of the ‘Rosse Buurt’ since 1989. One of the best, if not the only, techno club in Antwerpen. The best dj’s in the techno scene have played here and still do.
It is a bit of a dark place and the crowd can be a weird mix of people. Tight drugged out johnnies, whore mongers, Thai shemales, 16 year olds, people who are way too old to be at such a place, dutch tourists but in the end also a lot of people who are really there for the techno. Don’t go on Saturday because it will be full of tourists.
You pay three euros for a beer and you get a fuckin’ Heineken in a small 20cl glass?! The entrance fee is also most of the times around 10 – 15 euros. So take enough money with you if you want to survive the night or go outside once in a while to take a fresh breeze and score some Cara Pils in the nightshop nearby.
So if you’re into techno it’s a cool place to spend the night, if not go look for something else.

My most favorite club in the city. This club deserves a star for the best location ever. in the heart of the redlight district, good times when your going home with you drunk friends ;)
Café D’Anvers is a legendary club with a mixed crowd between the age of 18 and 30. It’s most populair on thursday night by students and the saturday nights are more focussed on 21+ folks. The interior is just epic, inspired by a dungeon /​prison. they have an old school dancefloor with tiles that light up and dj’s like Felix Da House Cat peform every once in a while.
The only downside is the way they handle payments. you need to buy tokens in order to be able to purchase drinks $$$ not that efficient but the overall experience will compensate it ;)
