I always take friends and family to Quinten Matsijs when they are visiting. It is the oldest café in the lowlands and situated in the old center of Antwerp, close to the cathedral and market square. I love the atmosphere. It’s perfect for catching up and enjoying a nice Belgian beer, especially one from Antwerp — De Koninck or Triple D’Anvers. I’ve never had a meal here, but have tried many of their hapjes, or appetizers, which are delicious!

Interesting place near Grand Place & the Cathedral. A very old tavern. Said to be the oldest in the old Low Countries. Well worth a visit for the experience. I had Antwerp wurst and beer. The others had Dry Curry. This was really good. Strangely, Dry Curry also seems to be a favourite of resident Japanese people. This is always a good sign of quality.
