Li O Lait

Had half an hour to spare in between meetings. Lio o Lait was perfect. Great chai tea, free newspapers and an overall good vibe. Would have been five stars if it weren’t for having to agree marketing emails in return for free WiFi. Not cool, but everything else is.

We came in for brunch and got bagels and tea. One was smoked salmon and cheese bagel another was cheese + tomato + arugula bagel. Both bagels were very tasty. As for the tea, they had a very unique tea pot. They used loose tea leaves and brew it in hot water in the pot. The thing is, you don’t pour the tea into the cups, but it has a hole on the bottom, so you put the pot on top of the cup and press down, then the tea would come down. Almost burned myself, but it was interesting lol

Great coffee – cappuccinos are made very well – and the sweeter drinks are as you’d expect in a city that makes great chocolate. Underrated in a town frequented by tourists. Friendly service as well.

The mocha latte was delicious and loaded with chocolate. I also really appreciated that it came with alphabet cookies and Werther’s Originals. I found the décor of the café quite cozy and the staff were friendly. I’ll definitely stop by again while in town.

Lors d’un périple à Bruges, sous une averse imprévue, nous avons décidé de nous abriter dans ce salon de thé et de nous réchauffer à l’aide d’un grand chocolat chaud.
L’endroit est sympa: un mélange de vieille épicerie et de salle de classe. Le resto est rempli d’objets chinés qui donnent son charme à la pièce mais elle reste cependant un peu froide.
Premier hic, il faut passer commande au comptoir. Il faut donc parvenir à se faufiler entre les chaises… pas simple. Ensuite le salon de thé qui a première vue semblait regorger de pâtisseries n’a pas grand chose à proposer (quelques brownies et une parte de cheesecake, rien de très original !).
Le chocolat chaud est onctueux et le mien avec des marshmallow est juste une tuerie.
Mais ça né sera pas suffisant pour nous convaincre. Il faut dire que les serveurs né sont pas très accueillants et nous avons l’impression de passer en second plan.
Est-​ce dû à notre accent français ?!
