The Graspoort has a soft place in my heart, because this used to be the place where we came with the children on Friday nights when our fridge was empty. The place still looks surprisingly the same, but now, the place is supposed to be one of the better restaurants in Mechelen. I am not sure why there is this hype: it is a nice place to sit — always was: cosy, a bit dark, romantic you could say althouh I also used to come here on Saturdays at noon to grab a sandwich(not sure this is still possible). The menu is OK, but not great and prices along the same lines. Make a reservation: it is a small place and it is quickly crowded. The menu changes regularly. I think the main attraction of the place still is its atmosphere.
