Ordentliches Businesshotel — noch relativ neu, gutes Frühstück und angenehm ruhige Zimmer — direkt im Bahnhof Midi — Preis noch ok für Brüssel

Unusual reception — just a standing area for the poor staff, which must leave them a bit footsore by the end of the day. Courteous receptionists who greeted me by name and even found a long forgotten loyalty card on their system, so I could earn some points. Was able to check-​in quite early, have a nap and do some work, which is always a bonus.
I believe this hotel only opened a couple of years ago, so all the décor is fresh and smart. The rooms are a little too ‘modular’. Large bed crammed into a relatively small space and a long built-​in bench/​day bed reminiscent of a first class railway sleeper rather than a hotel room. But very quiet, comfortable and there are enough plugpoints to recharge everything.
Generous breakfast.
But the best part of this hotel is its location, loads of taxis outside and right next door to the main Brussels Midi station. It even has its own exit directly into the Eurostar end, which is just perfect for a swift getaway.
