Great little hotel for a reasonable rate. Scores high on value for the money for me. Nothing fancy, but everything is very well thought out for travelers, clean, comfortable and quiet. Easy to get downtown and back with the #29 bus. The room key is a cell phone that lets you make free local calls. There’s also free wifi that works well. Front desk staff are very friendly, helpful and speak several languages. They have a little kitchen with a nice selection of foods for breakfast, drinks, snacks or pizza any time of day — at no charge. They also keep a fridge well-stocked with beer — also at no charge! Board games in the lobby, a nice little courtyard with a small pond to relax by and sit with other travelers. Only downsides of this hotel would be based on my normal expectations of hotels from North America, but they weren’t deal breakers. No elevator — but they brought our luggage upstairs for us. No air conditioning — but there’s a fan and a nice breeze in the window. Two single beds — but we pushed them together. No face cloths — but I brought some because I’d read most European hotels don’t have them. No TV — but there’s a screen you can plug a mobile device into to stream a show or movie. In our room there was no privacy getting out of the shower into a wide open washroom sink area(there’s a water closet for the toilet) so if you’re not traveling with someone who you’re okay with seeing you naked that could be a challenge. The positives of this place and the price far outweigh any negatives though. I just like to share these things so you’re aware of what you’re getting into. Book the Fun Key hotel, if your stay is like ours you won’t regret it!
