Che Lagarto Hostel & Suites

Che Lagarto es una cadena de hostels con un montón de sucursales en América del Sur, con presencia en Chile, Argentina, Perú, Uruguay, y mayormente en Brasil. No conozco ninguna otra sucursal, pero este me sorprendió ampliamente: más que un hostel es como un hotel. Es un edificio enorme, de 8 pisos, con terraza en el último piso con reposteras, mesas y un jacuzzi! (también tiene un a mini piletita, que es como un lavapies, así que ni la cuento). En el primer piso hay sala de juegos, con un ping pong y un pool. También hay dos computadoras con internet, que funcionan muy bien, sillones cómodos y tv por cable, una barra nocturna para pedir caipirinhas, gaseosas o cervezas. También funciona el comedor para el desayuno, con una gran cantidad de mesas, y está la cocina compartida, para lo que quieran cocinarse algo. El desayuno es estilo buffet, super completo, con jugos, frutas, pan, fiambres, huevos revueltos, budines, y lo mejor de todo, los chipá! Eran exquisitos!
Te atienden con buena onda desde que llegás, todos muy sonrientes, muy bien predispuestos. Nosotros reservamos a través de la página web del hostel una habitación doble privada, con baño en suite, y estaba impecable. Muy cómodo el colchón y las almohadas, aire acondicionado, televisión, heladerita vacía, para que la puedas llenar con tus cosas. Además te dan toallas, shampoo, crema enjuague y jabón (tengo entendido que no es así en las habitaciones compartidas). Nos dieron tarjetas magnéticas, y nos manejamos libremente con ellas, sin tener que devolverlas. Además, te hacen un usuario y contraseña para usar el WiFi del hostel, que funciona excelente.
Realmente lo recomiendo y espero que las otras sucursales sean así, porque lo voy a tener en cuenta la próxima vez que haga un viaje. Precio de hostel con servicios de hotel = un golazo.

Perfectly located in downtown Foz Do Iguaçu, this hotel (hostel optional, we had a private room) earned the 5 stars with the service.
The staff here is phenomenal! Everyone is extremely friendly, well spoken and courteous. They really made our stay feel special. I’m amazed at how many languages were spoken here, with each staff speaking conversational English, Spanish, portuguese amongst other languages it makes you wonder if they only hire polyglots.
Top notch service by everyone from the front desk to the cleaning, kitchen and also the folks at Pratik (tour company with an office in the hotel).
We were delighted by the amenities, the cleanliness and location of the hotel, close to many restaurants and also to public transport, 24 hour pharmacies, banks and Av Brasil which has many little shops for those looking to bring back a gift or two.
The only downside is that the roof was closed for repairs, so no rooftop cocktails in the jacuzzi overlooking a sunset, but oh well.
We highly recommend these guys and will likely check out some of their other properties in south America.

I had to give this place five stars. Do realize it is a hostel but this place has good rooms and an amazing staff.
We arrived at this place kind of by accident. We originally booked a hotel through a website. When we arrived we discovered that that hotel is now this place. It didn’t matter our booking was still valid with them.
Our room was a standard room, everything was nice and clean and it had a little fridge in the room. Although we were very happy with the room. It wasn’t the reason why I gave this place fivestars.
The reason for that is in the extras. Lets start with the staff, everyone was extremely friendly and spoke good english. They were always there to help and they could have been tourists guides as well. They advised us where to go and how to do it without wasting money.
On the sunday of arrival with were invited with everybody in the hotel to watch the sunset from the rooftop with FREE CAIPIRINHAS! Such an great experience!
Then the breakfast, it was a complete breakfast. Several different juices, different types of bread, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs and something sweet to finish. I have stayed in hotels here brazil before that can not compete with this breakfast.
To finish a special shoutout to Nataly one of the staff members. That was great. Always checking in how you were doing and to see if there was anything that she could do.
We had a great stay and we will definitely come back. I highly recommend this place!
