One of our best meals in Brazil. It’s a no-nonsense spot for fresh juices and delicious snacks, like coxinas, kibbe and sandwiches. It’s pretty cheap, too. We had two drinks and two snacks for 28 reais. How you know it’s good: it’s packed with locals, many eating alone.

A snack place that’s open most days(I think they are closed on Sunday). A busy eatery, so grab a counter; order snacks and sandwiches to go along with large sucos(fresh juices) made from Amazonian fruits – like guaraná(a tropical berry with lots and lots of medicinal properties), cupuaçú(a sweeter version of the cacao fruit) and graviola(custard apple). Get your bottled water, your snacks, your fruits, then head for the jungle day trip. You can blow about R$ 12.
