Fun park to walk through but of course not as fun as superkilen in norrebro. The park seems to be more suited for kids 10 and under. Otherwise it’s still a nice stroll in the vesterbro area.

I spent hours upon hours here while in Copenhagen. It was so peaceful that my feet kept changing course and coming back. I was able to walk the trails, sit still and enjoy the breeze, and watch as a little black bird made its nest atop some lily pads in the river that runs through the park.

The housing in this area of Nørrebro is mainly social housing, and in Folkets Park it’s easy to see, what kind of problems it creates — homeless sleep here during the early morning, the local drunks get their beers in the sun, people smoke…
