La Carabaccia

Wonderful atmosphere. Wonderful food. Just stopped in as my better half was a day late. The pasta del giorno was a no brainer though I didn’t even know what it was going to be. Turns out it was delicious. Think I ordered the house wine which for $ 4 for a half liter was lovely if not a bit light.

La Vecchia Lira

Nice little restaurant in tranquil Volterra. Really tasty Tuscan specialties, esp. the wild boar stew with pollenta — highly recommended. At the end of our meal we were treated to some kind of home made cherry grappa that was excellent but couldn’t find in any store.
