This is one of my favourite pubs in Ambleside. Small and traditional inside, friendly bar staff. Excellent selection of ales that changes quite often. If any ale/pub/walking fans are in the area, this is one you cannot miss.
Can’t attest to the food but we stopped here on a long road trip and had a beer. This pub is so authentic. The bar was built in 1496, their is a peet fire burning and union jack’s flying. It was the perfect stop on a chilly afternoon.
Beautiful little spot just off the main tourist trap of Ambleside Lake with gorgeous views over the surrounding fields.
