Great food even the vegetarian dishes are great. A varied selection of drinks available at the bar. Groups of the locals come in at lunch times. Live music of an evening. £5 specials board every lunch time. Great staff and very clean toilets. Plenty of seating and free WiFi.

I like it here. Had several nice meals here and really friendly service as well as a decent atmosphere. A good place for celebrations as well as more informal occasions. Has a nice garden too for when the sun’s out

An outstanding example of a local’s local. Friendly atmosphere with a landlord who is a perennial finalist for Hertford’ s cheeriest tradesman. Ready wit and barbs fly around a real log fire. Good atmosphere to watch football, rugby and golf. Beer is Macs but you can’t have everything. You’ll like this.

A Greene King pub but they do at least have the decent Timothy Taylor Landlord as a guest alternative to the varied GK swills.Besides the owners, it is an ok pub.Apart from the overflowing urinal!
