The Anchor Inn

Have had some realyy good Karaōke nights here, especially if you’re into Sinatra, Dino and Tony Bennett. Appears to be a quiet contry pub BUT, as they say, wait ’til after dark! The food is great as well

The Crown Inn

Appearances can be deceptive. This isn’t your average pub grub by any means. I’m loathe to review it, because it means the secret will be out, but this place deserves it. The only quibble would be on price, since a three course meal for two comes to about £60, but it’s good food in such unexpected surroundings…

Squire & Horse

With some comparable competition on the High Street, the Moon needn’t be too concerned. Terrific gardens at the rear, open spacious restaurant and a good selection of ales sees it in a position of some strength. Plenty of parking within short distances.Prices possibly a little up, but that’s life!

New Moon

Lovely Sussex scenery and this is just the place to have a meal/drink. Excellent old pub that has a 14th century bridge nearby. 1st class food and service that will not empty your pockets. Staff are are extremely courteous and friendly. Nice garden centre with steam trains nearby.

The White Hart

Stopped in on the way back from Petworth. not bad at all. We had used this pub years ago when we stayed with friends. It hasn’t changed that much. Never ate there but service and drinks were fine. Very pleasant staff and nice atmosphere (early pm)!

Typical old country pub situated in the village of my maternal ancestry. I have used it on occasions when passing through. 50’s film actor Harry Locke also used this pub a lot.The ale is kept very well and lunches extremely good value.
