History

Established in 1996.

Tanglebank Gardens started as a small family business growing perennials and showcasing them in our display gardens. Over the years we continued to grow and in 2000 we added the gift store, in 2012 we built Brambles Bistro on site with Daughter Chef Kayla and Executive Chef Sarah at the helm. Daughter and Horticulturalist Lauren grows and maintains the vegetable gardens and orchard as well as the display gardens.

My wife and I came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30. It is a half hour drive for us, so we were hoping for a good experience. We were not disappointed. The food was simple, with generous portions. I had a Rueben and my wife had a roast beef sandwich. We both chose the side salad with caramelized onion dressing. The food was uniformly excellent. Other reviewers have commented on slow service. We did not find that to be the case. Out sole issue might be parking at the restaurant. But in this case we lucked out and found a spot right at the door.

brambles has always been a lovely place to visit and on our recent visit, i came in with no expectations and just wanted to have a nice cappuccino and quality time with my partner. i am so pleased to have experienced the best service and our visit was so different that the others in the past. we came on a busy Saturday, when Santa was visiting, and families visited for a brunch buffet. it was a quaint fall morning and we were immediately greeted by a hostess who informed us who would be serving us and shared the daily activities scheduled that day. our breakfast order was taken promptly and food came out fresh and in a timely manner. in addition to the general breakfast platter that we usually ordered, we asked for the pear «bread pudding» and it was out of this world delicious. WOOH HOO! please keep up the great work management and love all the holiday décor.

Following my initial review, my love and myself have been back numerous times and I’m pleased to advise that in spite of a change in kitchen staff (including chef), the offerings remain first class and absolutely delicious!
Well worth the time it takes to program the address into your GPS, so get off of your McDonald butt’s and treat yourself!!!’

A little off the beaten path. But food was absolutely delicious! Had the sweet and salty and it was fantastic! Coffee was good, food was reasonably priced. Service was good and friendly. A very lovely little bistro! Can’t wait to go back!
