Ajax Rock Oasis

My friend and I decided to go climbing, I had previously been to rock oaisis but my friend hadn’t. We had gone right at 4pm no one was there. finally someone showed up and helped us register.
At the end of paying the guy helping, decided to start brushing his teeth right Infront of us. I found this to be very rude. Once we were all geared up and ready to go, he had us belay and clim to test us… we were strapping in and I wasn’t sure of one thing and the guy kinda laughed and made me feel stupid by saying to my friend «is she going to be a problem?» Once we were all tied up we each took a turn climbing.
Over all he was very rude and my friend and him ended up in a disagreement and he did not handle the situation very professionally he was rude, abrupt and kept arguing. My friend is certified.
The moral is don’t go there the receptionist is very rude and does not care at all to be professional towards the customers. Don’t waste your money to be laughed at and talked down to

I came here with my friend on a Friday night and we called ahead to book an introductory lesson as mentioned on their web site. She had never tried rock climbing before and it had been at least 10 years since I had last climbed. We got there and the reception was very nice. We got changed and were instructed to go inside. Our instructor met us down there and we got right into things.
We were taught how to put our harnesses on and then showed how to tie ourselves in.
Overall the learning process did not take too long and after maybe 45 minutes our instructor left us and told us were were good to climb on our own.
We were lucky because it was empty in the gym the entire night, only two other climbers. We definitely had a great experience with the place mostly to ourselves, we never had to wait to climb any walls, we just picked one and started climbing.
For $ 32 for the lesson, equipment, and climbing time, I thought it was a good price. We are already planning to go back again, it was so much fun!
