In a word… Terrible… Just terrible. To be fair, I was not expecting much, but was way worse than I expected. We both ordered burgers. They looked like and tasted like Sobeys frozen patties. They were slathered in a sticky sweet BBQ sauce. Fries were the frozen standard type. We ordered gravy but it never came, didn’t get cutlery either even after asking twice. The appetizer was gross, soggy and oily. Bill came to over 60 bucks, not worth it and will not go back.

Maybe after a weekend of heavy foods in NIagara, that chowing down at Montana’s in Ajax wasn’t the best idea… but the food was pretty good and so was the service. Tad on the expensive side for a casual restaurant but all in all, good eats for the whole family.

Most times when I go to Montana’s the food is excellent. however the last two or three times I found the food was subpar and not as good as it usually is. I normally get the goat cheese penne but the last time I had it the sauce which is usually very thick was very runny and do not taste the greatest also we had been seated at a table and 10 minutes later the waitress came over and said that she had forgotten about our table since it’s not her normal section and it did sound like an excuse but it didn’t seem very professional that she had done that and all of that made me not ever want to go back to Montana’s.

We come here at least twice a month. The food comes hot and we always ask for Debbie or Thea and our service is perfect. Had ribs and wings tonight it was so good. The one rotten thing was a family with a loud mom and a too old kids that kept screaming.

I ordered a spinach dip that was free with coupon it was okay good pita chips but the spinach dip itself wasn’t that great in comparison to another similar chain Kelsey’s they’re spinach dip is much better, smoother and creamier the one from Montana’s was not smooth and got hard. I ordered the burger with beef brisket on top and got it with fries and a glass of water(that came in like a mason jar?) the brisket on top had a good taste to it but honestly tasted and looked like pulled pork to me. The burger was a huge let down it looked exactly like a frozen burger I can buy from Sobeys, I kid you not I’m certain it was the same burger definitely not something made homemade in house. The fries weren’t very good, I had my 2 year old daughter with me and her favourite thing to eat is French fries and she didn’t want any after trying one. Our waitress was nice and asked multiple times if everything was okay I honestly felt she asked because even she knew the food wasn’t that great I didn’t complain because it wasn’t that it wasn’t hot, or not well portioned the food simply isn’t good quality. I don’t think the kitchen could have done better with what they had to work with. So I give a 2 star for the friendly service and nice atmosphere I absolutely will not return. Would have preferred a burger and fries from Wendy’s.

Went to montana’s with my girlfriend and both ordered some of their teas and chipotle burgers. The iced tea was okay, but nothing special; not worth the $ 3.50 or whatever they were. The burger was where I had my problems. The bun was dry and the burger had one flavor, BBQ sauce. There was so much that I couldn’t taste the chipotle or any other part of the burger. My iced tea even failed to rinse all of that BBQ off of my tongue. At the end, We were waiting forever for our bill, just like the rest of the service. When it was finally on the table, our total was over $ 40. tl;dr: Sub-par food at a price that’s much too high. There is a wendy’s across the street ad they can cook something better for under $ 5.00

We were visiting friends in Pickering and decided to try Montana’s. It was 8:00 on a Sunday evening. There were only about 2 – 3 tables of people when we were seated. We must have got a brand new server because she was not very good. It took about 10 minutes to get a drink order in and another 10 minutes before the coffee and tea showed up. About 10 minutes later I had to admonish her and tell her that I our beers should not take this long to get. We ordered our dinner and at 9:00 our meals showed up.(Yes, this is now 1 hour after we arrived, and there is only ONE other table of customers!!!). The ladies ordered the same salad. It was supposed to be on a bed of field greens. My wife’s salad had field greens, the other lady had a bed of ICEBERGLETTUCE! There was supposed to be goat cheese. My wife’s had a reasonable amount of it but the other lady’s had about 2 – 3 small crumbs of it. We had enough. We called for the manager(but there was none around of course!!) Some poor woman probably got volunteered to be the manager of the evening and she trundled out to apologize for the service and the food. What idiot would make the same meal going to two different people at the same table and think that they would not notice that they were NOTTHESAME!!! We paid for our drinks and left. We went across the street to Il Fornello’s and although the main kitchen was closed they were kind enough to make a few pizzas for us and they were EXCELLENT. I will never go to one of these Montana’s again. Just deplorable.

Very bad!!! Spend 300 $ for garbage food. It was family dinner. Ribs was acceptable. Wings– a lot!!! of vinegar and sauce, too bad! Chicken quesadilla 3 star of 5. Crispy calamari no taste and oily. DON’T buy pot soup, taste and looks like cheep soup from tincan. Fire grilled steak with portobello mushrooms sauce has bitter taste. Every dish came in different time. Soups last!!! :) Even pepsi with bad taste, maybe it was last syrup. Went to Montana many times before, had never ever bad experience, i don’t know what’s happened in this place in Ajax, but i never will go to this location. It’s too bad it’s my local Montana restaurant. Not recommend this location to anybody.

I’ve eaten here a few times and today I went for lunch with my dad. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and our server took our drink orders right away. It was after the lunch rush on a Saturday afternoon so it was quiet. My dad ordered a Heineken on tap and the server informed us(when dropping off my drink) that the keg was being changed so it would be a few minutes. Having been a bartender, I know how long it takes to change a keg and it took a while longer than usual for him to get his beer; it almost seemed like the server had forgotten it. Thankfully when it arrived, it was clear that it had been freshly poured. We both ordered off the express lunch menu, my dad got pulled pork and I got a turkey, apple, cranberry, bacon wrap thing. My dad really enjoyed his sandwich and cleaned his plate. My wrap was okay but it didn’t really fit together and there was too much mayo. Wraps are normally fool proof but this one fell short for me. Once we had finished we were chatting(not in a rush) but it took at least 10 – 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared an the MOD(manager on duty) walked by us a number of times. It was a bit busier by now and I think our server was over-sat and perhaps«in the weeds». Overall an ok meal, but I have had better there. I wouldnt recommend Montanas for lunch but I would try again. It’s definitely a good dinner place though!

Meh(m’) — 1.(n.) A multi-purpose response, primarily used to imply a degree of indifference. Tone of voice and circumstance often implies a meaning. Can be used when you don’t want to answer an awkward or embarrassing question, or if you just plain have nothing else to say, and you want the other person to interpret the«meh» however he/she chooses. As in: Q: «What do you think of my new dress?» A: «Meh.» or Q: «What do you want to do tonight?» A: «Meh.» 2. Montana’s Cookhouse Saloon At the rib event, and food took forever. then one of us got his frozen in the middle still… then took more forever. Got a «free app for next time» coupon. Meh. We chucked it.

I shared ribs with my mom, they weren’t that good at all. Kind of dissappointing. My dad got chicken and he said it was terrible, and his baked potato was like leather. They forgot my sisters ice cream with her kids meal. Overall, it wasn’t worth $ 40.

Best damned wings I’ve had in a long time and if you go after 8:30pm its half price! The Antojitos are awesome for an appetizer(not to mention addictive) and id recommend the Medium Hot Wings with a side order of Apple Butter sauce to top it off. It’s so delicious! The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent, will definitely go back for their Beef Ribs which are huge, juicy and to die for: D
