Not the best, not the worst. The drinks are good, the food is decent(a sausage roll with ketchup and mustard really hits the spot in the morning), and the atmosphere is clean and cozy. Definitely my preferred place to go when I’m in Banff, as I like to support local businesses.

Well made cappuccino that hit the spot on a rainy cold day. They’re a lively bunch to boot.

A nice little coffee shop that’s a good alternative to a chain like Starbucks or Second Cup. I can’t say there’s anything that makes it outstanding relative to any other café I’ve been to, but the drinks here are good, the prices are average, the place is pretty cozy to hang out in, and the staff are friendly.

Strawberry cupcake cappuccino sounds interesting to me. The coffee was a little light to me, maybe because I’m not a big fan of super sweet stuff.

My family and I wanted to to-go sandwiches for our hike, so we stopped by in the morning and waited in a line to grab some food. I ordered a chicken sandwich and got it toasted, and I was pleasantly surprised. It came on multigrain bread and had delicious chicken as well as cranberry sauce. Yum! Also, there is free wifi inside as well, in the restaurant. I was disappointed with a cookie I got, which had an amalgam of nuts and raisins and other such items. It had a dark taste to it, as if some rotten ingredients had been used while making it.

Sadly the 3rd time here, and it was very disappointing again-over a decade in this industry and I’m still surprised that for a tourist place this isn’t better; I will not be returning-however I do understand the difficulty in hiring staff(the British Jamie was a great hire while he was here) in banff. Almost anyone’s hired because staff is needed. However, once again it was not worth the price-over priced, my food was stale and didn’t taste of it’s flavour. The timing was very long and customers started to notice. Personality(which has nothing to do with training) of staff had the warmth of a snow peak! But, I must say that the mulberry pie is wonderful, moist-but I feel this may have not been made here! And they do have a very good coffee thermos to buy-over priced again but works well and attaches to backpacks; but my drink inside was also just luke warm. They have a long way to go to match other great cafés like the JK Bakery & Café which makes everything fresh and healthy and has well educated staff that are an upbeat pleasure, but with a little more experience Evelyn’s could get it right. I wish them luck.

On a hot day in Banff, we were searching for a good coffee place to get a cold drink. I saw Starbucks and since I hate that chain, I continued walking looking for other coffee shops. That’s when I ran into Evelyn’s. There is plenty of seating inside the café and free WiFi is available to the customers. Loved the rustic and coffee centric décor and pictures. We got a double chocolate frappuccino and enjoyed the drink. Unlike other coffee places, where the dominant ingredient in a frappé is ice cubes, Evelyn’s made the drink just right.

What a joke. Both of the staff members were either severely hungover(not uprising since it’s Banff) or higher than kites(or both… also not surprising). Unprofessional, unkempt, and really«out to lunch.» Service was excruciatingly slow. They never announced that the drinks were done even though we were a few feet away. We waited and waited before my father-in-law went up to ask about his latte. They thought someone had just left it so they threw it away. Instead of making a small, they made a large(and I don’t think it’s because they felt bad… I think they honestly just had no clue what they were doing.) The«vibe» in the coffee stop was ridiculous too. Interior design is a modge podge of crap. Music was tuned to pop/hip hop/rock. At one point, one of the baristas must have hit a button that slowed down the music 2x resulting in a strange, loud, groaning emanating from the speakers. It sounded a cow being run over by a truck again and again. Overpriced for what you get as well. Would NEVER go here again.

Do not go here, it’s hated by locals and a dreadful rip off for tourists. Their«fresh fruit» smoothie is just sugary juice blended with ice. Not to mention how much it’s gotten around town that this place is particularly nasty to their employees. We went on a tour, and our guide said that only newcomers to town are tricked into working for Evelyn’s. People often quit within the first few weeks and warn others not to work for them. I myself saw a tiny little woman sweating and heaving giant milk cartoons of food, with sweat streaming down her face as she ran to service the massive line of pissed off tourists. Talk about stress. It’s a bad vibe all around, and I think I’ll agree with locals on this one.

Kaffee ok.

Instead of stopping by Starbucks, walk a block on the main street, and try some genuine coffee from a local business! You won’t be disappointed… :-)

Visited two Evelyn’s on Banff Ave on Nov 92013. Pretty décor. So-so pumpkin spice latte. The flavoring is just syrup from a bottle. Service quality is consistent across both locations. Consistently bad. The owner must have spent too much money on rent for the prominent location and on the interior design, then forgot to pay the staff a living wage. I was there long enough to watch a parade of people walk in and out as the staff pretended to be busy and ignored the customers. Service is very slow for the remaining customers who’re patient enough to wait to be acknowledged by the staff and have their order taken. Getting the coffee made by the barista is another long wait. The guy let the coffee grow cold while he chatted with the girl then made the milk real hot to compensate. To the staff, if you’re unhappy with the way the boss is treating you, quit and find another job. If this is the best job you are qualified for then earn your pay. Don’t take out your frustrations on the customers.

This used to be my fave coffee place in Banff, maybe it was just a bad day, but I was disappointed. I had randomly come to Banff on the weekend to escape the city. Parked, got my coffee and was going for a walk. It was a complete sh! t show in there. People all over, huge line and only 2 people working. They helped 4 people before me, even though I had been waiting, and totally got budged. I ordered a mocha, as I’m not really a coffee person. And it was a terrible half and half. It tasted chalky, too much powdered chocolate or something.

Decided to stop in for a quick coffee and snack while wandering through Banff. I love to seek out little coffee shops and support the locals. Hubs ordered Carrot Cake and I ordered the Mocha Cheesecake to go with our coffees while the kids snacked on/shared a monster cookie. From the moment we walked in we noticed 3 different tables with dirty dishes. We were probably there for 30 minutes or more and those tables sat empty with dirty dishes even as we walked out. Hmmmm. My cappuccino was delicious but I have to say the cheese cake tasted rubbery and not like any cheese cake I’ve ever had or made… I think it was missing the cream cheese(lol). Interesting and not super great was the family consensus. The kids monster cookie was dry although they didn’t complain. Hubs said his carrot cake was good. As we continued on our way down the main street in Banff we noticed I believe 3 more Evelyn’s Coffee Bars… kind of a coffee shop monopoly or so it appears(ha ha). Now that I know there are more than 1 of these coffee shops I will seek out another local shop the next time we are in Banff. The coffee at Evelyn’s was good and definitely a quaint(but not so clean) little place. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for the coffee :)

Love love love this little coffee shop in down town Banff! The sandwiches are good, the lattes are good, and the italian sodas are to die for! I picked up some coffee beans for my dad from here and they smelt delicious! I can’t wait to try them. Staff here are very welcoming, but this place is super busy! It’s worth the wait though, everything is made right in front of your eyes. Good lunch spot or a great place to grab a coffee from and walk down Banff Ave.

When we were walking up and down Banff on our first night we spotted Evelyn’s and then Evelyn’s Again coffee bar and were so interested in this Nutella Latte advertisement that we decided we would have to come by before we left. +The staff was extremely friendly. +Very clean, organized setting +Plenty of indoor seating +Can buy coffee beans, beverages, coffee cup souvenirs, and a variety of other coffee memorabilia. +Delicious pastries –My only complaint would be that when I asked the cashier about her opinion of the Blueberry Coffee Cake she couldn’t give me an answer because she had never tried it. It turned out to be delicious though!

We were looking for a coffe shop in Banff in our way back from Sunshine Village and actually haven’t found one of the big brands but we found evelyns coffe bar. Evelyns coffee bar is a regular coffee bar with the usual hot drinks variety. Beneath the coffee, you can also shop a large number of coffe dishware, like glasses by bodum, isolation mugs, french press coffee machines and so on. Due to this mixed shop /coffee bar concept it isn’t a cosy place for a coffee and it feels more like one of those coffee stands in bookstores. The coffee itself is fine, the cappucino even came with some latte art on top. Anyhow, Evelyns is a good place for some coffee, especially if you want to avoid the big brands.

One of the best Hot Chocolates anywhere is in Banff, Canada. If I could show you a picture, I would. They use chocolate flavored whip cream, and it’s very whippy. UPDATE: I added a picture, the fourth one, of the whole cup and cream on top.
