I like to call this place my home away from home. I’m originally from Barrie, but moved away a few years ago where I work at a café my family started, so I make it a point to visit Bohemia every time we return to Barrie. Their food is all absolutely delicious, espresso is good, atmosphere and style is just gorgeous and service is top notch. They’ve done an excellent job here. Well done. Stop by if you’re ever in the area.

The Big Beautiful Salad is all that and delicious. Apparently one of the best salads in the GTA. Coffee was good, the service was top notch(very friendly) and the view of the lake out the back loft area isn’t too bad either. I was just passing through but I’ll remember to come back here next time I’m in town. Highly recommended.

isn’t it nice to find some character in a bedroom community such as Barrie? The coffee is organic, locally roasted, and fairtrade. The food doesn’t want to be above anyone but it’s better and more eloquent than anything I’d make for lunch at home, and the ambiance is just the right vibe to spend a couple hours of my afternoon with a book. Thanks for not being another boring café.

Bohemia is a warm, cozy, café focused on local. From the warm atmosphere, intimate décor, and beautiful architecture I felt welcomed from the moment I entered. My partner and I had two americanos made by the owner Jill, their veggie burger and baked sweet potato«fries» and a slice of cherry pie with whisky whipped cream. Everything was handmade in house and was delicious. I could tell that everything was done with care. The ingredients tasted fresh and there was a lot of flavour. Jill’s focus on supporting local as much as possible — from the ingredients to the coffee beans — and her warm attitude are embed in everything in this shop.

From appearances, Bohemia appeared as a lovely place. My friend and I walked in with coffees from a different shop in hopes of finding a sweet treat to go with them. The barista/cashier was very friendly and even asked where we got our coffees — because she recognised the logo — and helped us pick out a perfect muffin to share. We made our purchase and settled in our seats, only to be approached by a different employee(perhaps the proprietor of the establishment?) and notified that we were not allowed to have coffees from a different shop in Bohemia. She was not polite, not apologetic, not accommodating and insisted on our leaving, despite us being then paying customers. I don’t understand why the barista did not notify us of that rule and why the other employee allowed us to make a purchase AND sit down, before approaching us. It was incredibly disrespectful and if we were told of the rule at the get go, we would have no problem complying. Needless to say, we left the muffin behind and abandoned the shop quite dissatisfied. Bohemia needs to train their employees to be a little more vigilant and much more polite. Will not be returning. Barrie has other shops that actually provide wonderful service without any hints of spite or rudeness.

I did not have a good experience here; after spending nearly $ 8 on a coffee and muffin and beginning to work on my computer, I was approached by an employee who warned me, quite abruptly, that this was not«a work space» and that working on a computer is discouraged in the café. Working in a coffee shop? I think most would agree that this should be expected. Anyways, won’t be going back here and have told my «work» friends to avoid as well.

This place is great. They have really good coffee and tasty, healthy food. I’ve had a black bean and sweet potato wrap with a delicious salsa. When I’m in Barrie it’s my favourite place for lunch.

Very moist chocolate orange muffin for $ 2 each. Excellent tuna/artichoke/olive panini for lunch which comes with a side salad. I’d definitely go back. Service is painfully slow so beware.
