I was travelling thgough Ontario on a tour and had this place recommended to me many times, so perhaps it got a little over-hyped and thus I didnt find that it lived up to the hype. Sure it was good… little pricey… but nothing really special about it. I was expecting more. Oh and for some reason there was no music playing when I was there which made for a really stark and awkward environment.

Great place! The crust was too thin for my liking for it was tasty! I had hegdehog pie which was delicious but I wish they would put more basil on their pizzas! Only two small leaves… four basil leaves would be better! I had the spinach and arugula salad to start with walnuts, pear and blue cheese which was yummy. My mom had porky pie which was very meaty. I liked the hedgehog pie better because it had more cheese than hedgehog. Both porky and hedgehog had Italian sausage which was too spicy for my mom but she just ate slower :)

I want to make my review simple and clear — Pie makes a tasteless, wet and overall lousy pizza not worth the calories or cost. Period. After a day of skiing, we were hungry. We saw Pie from the hwy and checked it out. The Caesar salad was ok. Fresh and not overly dressed. But the bacon bits and croutons almost ruined my teeth they were so friggin hard. I added fresh lemon and lots of black pepper. Was it worth $ 15.50? No. Move on to their namesake. I don’t know how this place is in business let alone had other locations. The pizza I ordered was veg and the crust was wet. The cheese not melted and everything totally lacking any flavour. Not the sauce. Not the cheese. Not the dough. Not the toppings. Sent it back to cook it properly and I tell you — there was no change and I don’t think it even went back into the oven. Buddy ordered the salmon pizza. Bland. Cheese globby. Too much happening. Doughy soft crust and not crispy. Simple is better. Again, a real shame as how great would it be to actually find a pizza joint that made an enjoyable pie! Not worth the visit and will never return.

Popped in here for lunch. Split a salad and pizza and had some beer. Food was good. Service was good. It’s full of families and kids, so we sat at the bar. No complaints. Loud family friendly pizza joint with a bar and tvs.

My boyfriend and I come here often on date nights then go to the movies because it’s right beside Cineplex, so perfect date spot. There’s not usually a ton of people so we never have to wait for a table and it’s not too loud to converse. We literally love anything we’ve ever ordered, all the crazy pies are delicious. They have a dessert pie, it’s dough with Nutella, ice cream, and bananas, and OMG it’s amazing.

TERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE… Had a problem and manager will not call me back! Very expensive but good pizza. Unfortunately I will only go there if I have a WagJag coupon because of the ridiculous prices. When I went to use my WagJag from my iPhone they would not take it. They said I need to print it out even though they did not add this as a Rule of Use on the certificate. Nobody at the restaurant could do anything about it so I asked for the manager’s contact information. They gave me his first name but couldn’t give me his phone number. Instead they took my number and would have him call me. THATWASTWOWEEKSAGO… STILLNOCALL!

Sadly, I’m dropping my rating of this place. They changed the menu since last time, and the pizza I got was soggy. Also, I don’t remember it being this pricey! It was 60 after tax for 2 pizzas(they’re individual sized) and an appetizer. They charge extra for dipping sauces(marinara, etc). Also, they got rid of the smoked ricotta, and they only have horseradish ricotta – not even regular ricotta. Bottom line: The pizza was ok, but not worth the price & drive.

I’m sure that in Barrie this place is the cats pyjamas, but I found it to be mediocre. The concept of a family friendly pizza place that makes high quality pizza is great. The problem is that the quality just isn’t there. I’m sure that ingredients could be better sourced, I know this because I have had the same pizza else where only much better. Oh and they need to do something about that obnoxiously loud classic rock they have blaring in this place constantly. I would definitely bring people who I didn’t care about back here. Also I agree with the other reviewers the staff is genuinely nice and they do there best to sell the okay food.

As soon as we saw«wood fired pizza» on Unilocal — the decision was practically made for us. Unfortunately, Google Maps was not awesome at leading us to our destination. So if you’re using Google, go to the opposite side of the street and drive down the road a bit. Right away, we were greeted by a lovely host and server(both wearing adorable backpacks). We decided to dine-in two of their pies and take another two for the road. I also sipped on some Italian Sunrise — which I would highly recommend. The pies arrived super quickly and were a bit underwhelming, to be honest. I mean, if you compare to Domino’s or Pizza Hut, then this is heaven. But compared to pies made in other Wood Fired ovens, this is pretty middle of the road kinda stuff. We were also confused about why they decided to rename a number of classic pies, ie Margarita became«Queenie». Anyways, the pies were decent — that night and the next day. We really liked the cute server. The atmosphere is nice. And they didn’t judge us for wanting to colour — which is a bonus. For a small Ontario city, this place is a winner. But it ain’t no Libretto.

I had a day trip to Barrie few weeks ago, and I finally have time to give this place my review. I would never go back. When we got there, we had 2 glasses of water to start. However, one of the glass had leftover/unwashed food inside, who knows how many days the food was there. Since the glass was deep in color, and I didn’t look before I drank my water, I actually drank some… The waitress was nice and apologized to us and gave us «FREE» dessert and said that was the«BEST» she could do. I took it, but deep under my mind, I would not recommend to everyone and my friends in the future the go near to that area. The pizza was pretty good because it is fresh out of the oven, but other than that it kind of disgusting…

Great value, great food. The rare occasion I am in Barrie I am always sure to visit PIE. I love the fun pizza combinations that are offered. Options like«stinky pie» and«green eggs and ham» give this restaurant a unique edge over the countless pizzerias I’ve been too. Prices are fair($ 12 – 17) for the size of pizza you receive. I always leave with a pizza take out box of what I couldn’t finish. They also have daily drink specials for $ 6.95. Recommended options; — Hedgehog — Sweet & spicy — Stinky pie

The ITUNES play list in not approriate. While the owner says it is «not labeled explicit» the images still assaulted my aging mother in law and my 10 year old daughter with sexual images and content just not appropriate while dining(or at any restaurant that promotes itself as Family oriented). Sex simulation, and partial or almost fully nude bodies gyrating in front of my face while eating… Thought that was for peeler clubs. So. If you want to expose your family, aging parents, have a business lunch and feel totally uncomfortable go eat some PIE. and know that you gave your money to management that could care less to take the effort to edit or remove offending video’s from their play list, to ensure that their food got all the attention and enjoyment that it deserves.

It’s fine. It’s okay. it’s nothing spectacular, but it satisfied our hunger on our way back to Toronto from up north. Food was decent and staff was friendly. They were nice to a 2-year-old and made us feel welcome. Décor is a bit cold, but it’s fine and suitable for what it’s going for. Busy place, and decent menu. But just«okay» overall. No wow-factor.

Love this place! We drive here from Aurora when we want pizza. The food quality is great, though it has declined a little since we first started going here. You used to get big curls of parmesan on your pizza, now it’s grated and less of it. I know cheese is expensive but I will pay for it if the product is good. That being said, this place has a great variety of pizza to choose from, which is made to order, hand stretched and baked in an authentic wood-fired oven. The result is a crust that is crispy while still retaining a nice chew. Protip: Get an egg on your pizza and you can dip your crust into the yolk. You can thank me later! Nice selection on tap too, for those that enjoy a pint with their pizza.

I finally got to check out this place! Living in Brampton it is a bit of a trek to come out to Barrie but since I was visiting a friend in Innisfil for the night I was able to «convince“her she felt like pizza. We phoned in our order and took it home and paired it with a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel(Seven Deadly Zins). She got her«usual» Stinky Pie which is pesto, pear, caramelized onions, balsamic glaze, walnuts and she subbed the blue cheese for goat cheese. It was to die for! Sorry my picture is only of half of it because we kinda dug into it as soon as we walked in the house. After much debate since all the pizzas look so good(I love that their website has photos!), I decided to go for the green eggs and ham, but hold the potatoes. It is pesto, spinach, bacon, mozzarella and a perfectly cooked egg on top(the yolk was a little bit runny so I could dip my crust in it). The bill came to about 28 with tax. Great service! They are open at 11am, 364 days per year. Definitely will be back and excited they have a Pickering location which is slightly closer than Barrie for me :).

I first found out about this place on You Gotta Eat Here. And so I did JUST that, and it was however, not the best pizza i’ve ever had, but it was absolutely a good pizza, maybe i’ll try somthing different next time.

After having somewhat of a hard afternoon logistically and now hunger driven, I turned to one of my favorite foods for a little tasty TLC. Never having tried real wood fired pizza, I had to try PIE, especially since a friend had this place highly recommended next time I was in Barrie. As I took out my GPS to lock in the location, I found I was just down the street from the pizzeria. Perfecto! It wasn’t overly busy as I was arriving in the later afternoon. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who let me pick my booth by the window. From the outside it looks small but inside it’s pretty roomy, with high ceilings and spaced out seating. It’s a casual setting, but not too casual for the suits in their seats chowing down on some delicious ‘zza. :) The menu is built right into the table, which is cool, but wonder what the plan is if they decide to do any changes to items or prices, hmmm… OK, so thinking back to the movie Eat, Pray, Love… I let my mind take me to Naples, Italia. I ordered the Kobi 43 — fresh tomato sauce, mmmmmozzarella with a few basil leaves at $ 10 a pop. Simple, yet perfect! I love the way they present it as a whole pie, just for ME, a large size for an individual, I also might add! Tucked in on one side, my very own pizza cutter to use to slice till my hearts content, lol. Slowing down my thoughts, cutting my first piece, taking in the aromas, everything is now in slooo-moo, lol. I take my first bite. I fall in love all over again! Now, I love thin crust pizza, it creates just enough of a foundation to hold everything together without overpowering the simplicity of the toppings. Also, I’m kind of a kid in a way, I like to see my cheese stretch from my mouth to the piece of pizza in my hand, perfect amount, perfect temperature and FUN! The taste of the basil leaf in one bite is delicious. I just wish there was more of it. I also ordered a red wine sangria… mmmmm, SANGRIA! Immediate solace, and love being able to dig my spoon into my glass at the end to eat the wine infused mixed berries. I have eaten many pizzas or «pies» before, from your cheap delivery places to you more expensive dine-in restaurants, but I can say there is a certain«je né sais quoi» about it being authentically wood fired. Mmmmm… the hint of wood, smoke, fire? I dunno but it’s damn good! As I head towards the door, I wave and smile at the guy in white throwing dough in the air :) I’ll be back!

My girlfriend and I saw Pie on You Gotta Eat Here, and we thought it looked so good we had to go there. It just so happened that we had an Algonquin camping trip planned, so we could hit this place up on the way back to Toronto as it’s just off the 400. We got three pies to share for the three of us. First off, I think the prices are reasonable for what you get. In Toronto, they would be charging 16 – 18 dollars for some of these pizzas, but there they range from 14.00−15.50. Also, the menu has a unique selection, and I love that they print it right on the wooden table. We just didn’t find it to be as epic as we would have liked. It was a good place, but not a place to go out of your way for. The three pizzas we had were the slow and low(pulled pork, apple slaw, bbq sauce), the stinky(pesto, blue cheese, pear, balsamic glaze), and the green eggs and ham(pesto, egg, bacon, potato). I would say the green eggs and ham was definitely my fav! It was the most harmonious and unique. The slow and low needed more pulled pork. And I didn’t think the pesto worked that well with the pear and blue cheese.

Good food, hidden location. Menu is «on» the table. Will be hard to change pricing, but it”s on the high side anyway, so should not be an issue for some time…
