H&R Block

Today Canada Revenue Agency informed me that I owe them $ 6,500.00+. Turns out that the (not so) good folks at H & R Block made a simple entry error in my return. I guess the checker did not check. So, as of tomorrow I will begin finding out how good they are at honoring the Block Guarantee, which states in part that «with every return we prepare. If we make an error, we’ll pay any resulting penalties and interest.» Stay tuned to find out how much Unilocaling I may have to do. I’m giving them one star because otherwise this review will not be posted, but you know that I mean ZERO STARS!

I normally do my own taxes and a few of my friends. But I ran into a bit of a snag with a couple of my previous years and needed some professional help. So I stopped in here to see if anyone could help. I was planning on paying for any services they provided as long as I got some answers. I did quite a bit of research online and using CRA’s website and it wasn’t easy getting a definite answer on some Graduate tax credit information.
I went in and the first thing they asked me was if I had an appointment booked, I felt a bit embarrassed because I didn’t even think of that. There were a couple of people ahead of me but once they finished up, they let me talk to someone.
We sat together and talked about my previous income taxes, I asked a bunch of questions and the gentleman was more than willing to help. At the end of it, I went to take out my wallet to pay, but he refused to take any money because I didn’t actually have them do my income tax.
So I left knowing a lot more about taxes & tuition credits and didn’t pay a dime! It’s great to see businesses doing value-​added services like that. I definitely recommend going to this location.
