May not look like much from the outside but the takeout here is hands down the best food we’ve ever had. We’ve been going here for years since we moved to Bedford. Hard pressed to think of anything this good and quite honestly healthy out there. We seldom deviate from the chicken skewer plate, prices might seem a little high for takeout but the portions are huge and genuinely amazing food. Can’t recommend enough.

I think Tareks may be the absolute best food I have ever eaten. And there are so many healthy choices too! I have never had falafels like Tareks, soft, moist and garlicky! I have yet to try the pizza. I need to convince myself to go for the pizza instead some time. The restaurant is not beautiful but it’s clean and you’re there for the awesome food anyway. It’s definitely a big yes!

Absolutely awful We ate at Tareks tonight in Bedford and had an unpleasant experience. Both of us are sick. We both had the falafel plate which included 3 pieces of microwaved falafel and not so fresh sides. I stopped at the Starbucks down the street and hurled. We are both wishing we never went. STAYAWAY!!!

Having recently moved to Bedford, my husband and I have been on the hunt for a good go-to pizza place. I recently tried Tarek’s for lunch(which included a falafel which changed my whole outlook on falafel), so we decided to try out the pizza one weekday night. Tarek’s delivered… and so did the pizza. The crust was light, and not greasy. The toppings were fresh and tasty, and the sauce was good. Basic pizza done well. Martha’s Pizza has some definite competition.

Tarek’s Café, the city’s beloved provider of garlic-infused mealtimes, has recently expanded into Bedford just a stone’s throw from Sunnyside Mall in a bare bones take-out space that’s perfect for grabbing great Lebanese cuisine to go. We popped in last week to fuel up before evening meetings, each nabbing more food than we could stomach for about $ 10 – 13 each. Tarek’s menu can be a bit overwhelming if you’re not as experienced in the world of Mediterranean grub so it’s a good thing each menu item is listed with a large photo to give you an idea of what to expect. Not into falafel, kebabs, or hummus? Well, this Tarek’s also houses a pizzeria for the less adventurous. I nabbed the falafel plate which came with a three-bean salad, tabbouleh, lentil rice, pita, and a nice dipping sauce, all of which was incredibly delicious(although significantly less so for those who had to smell me for the rest of the night). The downside? Well, the space is pretty raw at the moment. Unlike the charm of the North End or Spring Garden locations, it feels like your average dirty pizza takeout place which won’t do them any favours. Luckily they brought the great food along with them, but hopefully they’ll bring the décor and in-store experience up to snuff soon enough.
