Food was really good, looked and tasted homemade! Service was quick and the waiter was friendly! There are daily specials as well.

Dave’s is my local watering hole now that I have moved to the area. But I have been going there since before I moved out to «The County». Everyone needs a watering hole. Its the place you can let your guard down, relax with your favorite beverage, and chat openly about your crappy day or latest conquest. The 80s TV show Cheers was popular for a reason. People want to belong, want a spot where they can bump into people they know and engage in conversations that help to take their mind off… well…whatever their mind is on. Dave’s has the Cheers thing going strong, at least for me and the crew that are usually there when I am. Most days Dave can be found behind the bar, slinging food and clearing tables with his staff. He is a great guy, and that translates into staff that are awesome and friendly as well. The place is casual, and he runs it like its his house. The hours are a perfect example of this. The signs all say«Operating Hours: 11AM to Close». Close is when his customers have left happy, well fed and comfortable. Never before. Food wise Dave is an experimenter. More than once I have had a suggestion made on a meal that’s not yet on the menu, so he can gauge my reaction and see what I think. The latest was liver and onions. I am not a HUGE fan, but his enthusiasm overwhelmed me and I took the leap. AWESOME. Its was a great meal, simple, put together FAST and full of flavor. The food is well made, and sold at fair prices from my point of view. The gravy is probably from a can, but its that almost black thick as mud truck stop gravy that fries CRYOUTFOR. It’s damn good. Who cares where it came from? The rest of the menu is the same. Choice selections done very well and tweaked by Dave and his staff(based on customer reviews) to make his customers love em. The building itself is an old cheese factory. A comfortably awkward compilation of several different rooms that were used for several different enterprises in years past. That doesn’t detract from the atmosphere at all, rather, it adds to it. The place is a roadhouse, and looks like one. Lots of wood, plank floors and home made tables and nooks. There is a wonderful patio for the warmer months, and during tourist season, its often busy all day as tourists and local folks on vacation pop in to take a seat, chat and refuel. In the winter it can get a bit slow(the weather being what is is here in PEC) but Dave takes it in stride. The service just gets better, and you stay longer. I have a great watering hole now. And if you want one, even if your are just passing through, Dave’s will take care of that need to get your mind off of… well…whatever its on.

Apparently there was a fire and some apparently unsavoury activity going on here. Anyway, it is gone(literally).

I went to Dave’s for the first time today, for a late lunch, and a beer. I have to say, I am impressed(and I am extreamly picky!). If you are a local, who has been to this location under previous ownership, I insist you come in, and check it out. The renovations are great, and the staff & owners are top knotch! I had nachos and a beer. A few things that I really liked — the prices and menu selection are great, the service was excellent, and the owner came to my table while I was there. If you are coming from out of town, this would be a great place to come for lunch, dinner, or drinks! I will be back.
