Kings Machi Buffet

Worst dining experience in the entirety of my life. Don’t go to this location.
The outside is run down looking and the inside isn’t much better. It smells disgusting as you walk in.
Our waiter was rude, as a result I didn’t tip. Coincidentally, he scribbled his name on the receipt so I couldn’t read his name.
The food was nasty, cold and old. I couldn’t find a single thing I liked. Very poor food quality and very poor service.
I am very disappointed !!!

There are no restaurants near the hotel where I’m staying. While trying to figure out where to have supper this evening, I saw Kings Buffet was a ten minute drive away from my hotel. It brags that it’s the «Biggest Buffet in Brantford» so I thought I’d check it out. I didn’t bother changing out of my comfy stretchy pants and off I went!
When I arrived, I thought it was ironic that there was a Curves and a 24 hour fitness gym in the same plaza.
When I got there about 5:30pm, it wasn’t very crowded. I took a stroll around to see what they had. If you like crab legs, there were quite a few dishes with it.
The food wasn’t great. Considering it had been open for more than an hour before I got there, a lot of stuff was cold or warm, not hot … it had been there for a while. And it didn’t taste great either. Usually I find something that’s amazing and go back a couple times for it … not here. The best part was the slice of lemon meringue pie, which wasn’t made in-​house.
At the end of the meal, Jennie brought a warm damp towel and a fortune cookie.
I won’t be back.

The food is okay for a buffet, but the staff were kind of rude. The one server/​bartender sat us down, but there was an older lady that did most of our serving, clearing plates and such. When it came time to pay for the bill the male server basically took the tip, which I feel he didn’t really deserve. There was another older lady that did most of the work, but she didn’t get the tip at all. Julie Toy basically uttered the words, «Daddy’s rich, isn’t he?» This was totally uncalled for and unnecessary. I spoke to Raymond, the manager about this behavior and he proceeded to tell me that there were lawyers in the background. He also said that they work as a team, but I know that they don’t pool the tips together, but each is given a tip individually. To me this does not seem fair at all. Raymond also made a comment about me taking pizza. So, I told him off about his rude comments to my family and I. We were paying customers as well.
I had a review on here before, but I can see the people that run this Unilocal have either deleted the post or someone from the staff of Kings have deleted it.
This is very interesting. The previous review that I did for this restaurant has magically reappeared again.

I really liked this place. The food was good. The wait staff was attentive. There were lots of choices especially veggies which are usually lacking in these buffets. The atmosphere was very nice. They also have special prices for seniors, children, families, etc. All in all it was a good deal.

Since I was last at King’s Buffet, they’ve upped the quality a fair bit, but also upped the price. They have quite a good selection, including sushi and carving station, and the food was very good.

Can’t say I’ve actually eaten here. Was attending a fundraising event in mall parking lot on a scorching hot day. My kids were thirsty so I went in to sit down and buy drinks for all of us. Was asked to leave because we weren’t buying food… I’m not going back!
