For any chain restaurant, what really makes a particular location great is the staff. We come to the Bridgewater Swiss Chalet pretty often when we need a break from cooking at home, and always get such a warm welcome from the hostesses and waitstaff. Good people, and good at their jobs. The food is fabulous if you stick to what they do best. I’m pretty unimpressed with the appetizers, for the most part, and the salads are standard fare, but the broiled chicken and all the related dishes are wonderful. And they make pretty darned good chicken soup! It is always rammed from about 5 pm to 7 pm, so we try to come outside those times. The wait usually moves along pretty quickly, though, because they’re efficient.
