History

Established in 1956.

Burlington Dance Academy (BDA) is the most tenured dance school in our community. We opened our doors in 1956, building Ontario’s first building exclusively designed for the study of dance in 1980. Our two full-​size, mirrored studios are climate-​controlled, featuring cushioned sprung floors and each ballet class is accompanied by a live pianist.

Each year our students prepare for a professional recital held at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. All students and faculty participate in this special and memorable showcase featuring elaborate costumes, exciting choreography and creative lighting to bring their hard work to the stage for their families and our community.

Business Owner

Tania earned her joint Honours B.A. in Dance from the University of Waterloo and National Ballet School and her Teacher Training Diploma from the National Ballet School. She holds AISTD (Cecchetti Associate Diploma and the Advanced Syllabus Certificate and has been a long-​standing audition panelist for the Etobicoke School of the Arts as well as a guest teacher at Cawthra Park Secondary School of the Arts. Tania enters and successfully coaches students in their Cecchetti exams each year and runs our Competitive Program.
