Checked out the Skyway Diner today for the first time for an early Mother’s Day breakfast as it was a central location for everyone to meet. The Food was great! Our party of 8 walked away stuffed and happy. we will be back!

Wow. After reading reviews here we thought this would be an awesome diner. We had breakfast here today and were hugely underwhelmed. Pancakes were tiny. I don’t think I have ever seen Pancakes so small at a diner. Sausages were tasty but unfortunately cold. We both had the same dish and wished one of us had tried something else. Unfortunately while the coffee was tasty and in a carafe(we love this) there were all kinds of grounds at the bottom. Unfortunate but we won’t be back.

Surprisingly good for a good price. Nice variety of items on menu. Everything sounded good. The tomatoes that came with my breakfast were a perfect compliment to my meal.

Only had breakfast here from time to time. If you’re looking for big portions for a decent price you will find it here. If you’re looking for something interesting or something with a higher calibre of taste you won’t find it here. This is a popular place b/c I don’t feel the expectations were high for actual taste especially in what used to be small town Burlington. However, since Burlington is developing and has become much larger and people generally are opening up to and seeking quality taste experiences when they eat out, «generic» places like this one will need to bring more to the table. Bottom line, you’ll get what you ask for here, prices are good, portions are big, service seems to be relatively quick. If you don’t know any better you’ll actually like it ;)

A truly awesome diner. Admittedly the service can be a little slow, but the people are very kind. Wouldn’t go if I was in a rush.

There are two dishes I judge a dinner breakfast for, either a great Monte Cristo or a great Corned Beef Hash. Since a Monte Cristo was not on the menu I ordered the Hash and hands down it is the best I’ve ever had. No doubt about it being made Fresh and to order for me. The poached eggs were perfect and the coffee could not be beat, especially since they brought the carafe and plenty of cream and sugar. Forget Starbucks, diners have the best coffee. Bright atmosphere, kind and attentive staff, and oddly, at 55 I may have been one of the youngest patrons. Also of note, there was a group of «elderly» ladies eating at the table near me, and as they were preparing to leave one of them plopped herself on the opposite seat to me in my booth. She was waiting for her lunch club ladies to get ready to leave. I jokingly said that if she stayed much longer she would have to pay for my lunch. Pleasant conversation ensued and I discovered that she and the ladies have know each other for 48 years and they still meet once a month. Also that she is going to the doctor later today because she has an iron deficiency and as such are liver and onions for lunch. I told her I’d stick to Corned Beef Hash myself, thank you :)

Had a basic breakfast and was not particularly impressed. Nothing was terrible but nothing was great either. Service was okay but rushed. Bathrooms not clean. Greasy food for sure.

A true top quality dinner. Good food and plenty of it. The service was good as well with the big group we had. The menu to varied and plentiful in terms of options. A great place for a weekend breakfast or a quick weekday lunch.

Waited 15 minutes at the door, not a single waitress/hostess even addressed our presence! Eventually one walked over, and said«you’ll just have to wait» even though the restaurant was about half full Only one word describes the service… embarrassing The owners should take a close at their establishment, first impressions are everything We left without sitting down, so can’t comment on the food, we will not be back

Had lunch with hubby today but found the service very slow and not very friendly. More than that the washrooms are disgustingly dirty and I saw a waitress drop silverware on the floor and then set in a customer table! The food was not the best either. had omelette and it was very salty and the home fries were deep fried and extremely salty and overdue. Will not be going there ever again.

I make the commute to Niagara often and struggle to find a place for lunch or brunch just off the QEW. No more. Its the Skyway for me and my wife and family. Family restaurant that first of all puts a carafe of coffee on your table when you arrive. Winner! Rarely done in Canada. Nice job. The staff are friendly but not eager, but that’s ok, you expect good not great service in many diners. The bacon and eggs were perfect. Big think crispy bacon and just right scrambled eggs. Toast was smothered in butter and they had marmalade as an option on the plate. Who serves marmalade any more? Well, these guys. Why? Lots of seniors. As my departed aunty used to say, look for seniors and you’ll find good food, lots of it and great prices. Place apparently is redone. Parking in front and in McDonalds parking lot next door. We will definitely stop in again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the diner, which was quiet on a Thursday evening. Chicken souvlaki dinner was large enough to get two meals out of, although the Greek salad accompanying was a little skimpy on the olives– only two for such a large portion? That said, however, my wife and daughter and I were pleased enough that we will return.

Somewhere between 3 and 3.5. value was very good. Omlette breakfast was very good portion/value. Food quality was decent. Atmosphere and service were both good.

Unimpressed with this place as I have been with it’s previous 2 incarnations. Slow service by a waitress that messed up the order then got snotty when I asked that an item that was not provided be removed from the bill. Food was OK, but a cheese omelette with no cheese just sucks. Home fries were great, toast arrived with no butter. Price was high when you compare it with other diners in the city. Was expecting more based on other reviews. At best 2 ½ stars from me. Place used to be called Apple Annie’s, which was awful, then they had a fire. After they rebuilt, the layout stayed pretty much the same but the name was changed to Skyway Diner. If it’s the same ownership, I’ll give them that their slightly better than when they were apple annie’s, but still disappointing on my one visit. Anyone who thinks this place is 5 stars needs to get out more. Mount Royal, Table Top, Sunset & Even Cora’s blows this place away for breakfast & service.

This place is pimp. Love it. Best breakfast on Plains Road, hands down. Beats Russell Williams every day and twice on Sunday! Quick service, tasty food, and very inexpensive. What I also like is the big open concept to the restaurant — room to breathe and see who’s all there, and the wait time for a table is usually nil. Check it out.
