Studio B

Today was my first time to Studio B and I loved it! It was definitely worth the drive from Toronto. Not only is it a beautiful, warm and welcoming space, but both Brock and Kristopher are incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I wanted something a little different than my regular blonde highlights — some pink tips — and I got exactly what I wanted :) It looks so awesome and I’ve already had a number of people ask where I got it done. If you’re looking for a salon with experienced stylists that can bring your vision to life, I highly recommend Studio B! :)

I should preface this review with the fact that I have not gotten my hair done by Brock or anyone on his team. I was a Bride who was anxious to book my hair stylist for my wedding day (unfamiliar with hair stylists in the area).
I was referred to Brock from a make-​up artist, who assured me that he was an amazing hair stylist. I connected with Brock three and a half months before my wedding. I live on the West Coast and was eager to get my hair situation sorted for the big day while visiting my family in Ontario.
Here is where the trouble began, we just couldn’t connect. I tried to call him multiple times, emailed him a couple of times, until I found him on Facebook. After finally receiving a message from him on Facebook, Brock assured me that my wedding date was blocked off and that he could style 4 to 6 ladies at my in-​laws house. Great! But, since I haven’t gotten married before or booked a hair stylist I didn’t know I was supposed to book a trial, Brock didn’t let me know this either. So, when I contacted him a month before my wedding, he told me he was booked until end of September.
However, just as I am getting off of my plane 3 weeks before my wedding, Brock FB messaged me to let me know that because I hadn’t called him at work he did not schedule the day to style me and my family members.
To his credit, he did apologize (over Facebook, while also reminding me that I should have booked through his salon number) and offered to connect me to another salon. However, at that point, I was so exasperated, how many different ways should I try to contact him? It also made me feel like an extremely small fish in his big pond. Brides beware!
In the end, it did work out but I didn’t have my hair situation sorted until 3 days before my reception. What needless stress!
