Britewash

it was a sunny January day where EVERYONE was in line to get their wheels cleaned.
we found this place with a half dozen cars in line. I thought we all got through quickly so we weren’t wasting precious daylight.
all the cars were dirty, I mean, dirrteee! including ours so it was nice that a man was there pre washing with a wand before we got in to the auto-​matic machine.
we chose the $ 12 package over the $ 8 and $ 15 options. while it didn’t get 100% of our four-​door car, it got 97%. given time vs. money, and the amount of dirt and crud, it was a solid ‘good’ experience.

All closed up on a Monday afternoon. And even if it was open, no good to me as I wanted a self wash. I need to shampoo and scrub my interior. Fail. :-(

This is no longer a self wash location! Only a soft brush drive through type. Drove all the way out here looking for a wand wash, only to discover the self wash stations (still shown on their website) are now a Tim Hortons and a parking lot. Update your website! What a waste of my time. Didn’t bother with the tunnel wash, as I like to keep my car scratch free.

This has got to be the worst place I have ever been. I might as well just of washed my truck at the local pond. Upon first arriving I found that non of the bays really worked. Finally found one that actually had a hose hooked up to it I found out there change machine is busted. Well that’s convenient. Luckily I had 3 toonies in my pocket. Popped my first Toonie in and found out that half the options don’t even work. After rinsing my car with the soap function minus the soap I found out that two minutes goes by pretty quick more like a minute and 30 seconds. So now I have to up my scrubbing speed to Max just to make full use of my three toonies. Time for the foam brush. Well surprise surprise no soap in the foam brush either. As my second Toonie ran out I was thank full that I had a third cause I sure wasn’t finished pushing the dirt around with this anti-​foam brush. I decide to use my last to you to raise the car off. Luckily the minute and half went by pretty fast and I got three quarters of my vehicle done. I would not recommend washing my vehicle at this place. Just drive your car through the local mud pit and it will come out looking better than what you get here.

I’ve used this car wash before, and was able to do an ok job of cleaning my small car, but things seem to have gone drastically downhill. This week I visited Britewash to find that only 2 of the self-​serve vacuums were working and only 2 of the self-​serve car washes were open. The car wash did not accept any of the loonies I had with me (probably because they were new), and thinking that the change machine there would hopefully provide change the car wash would accept I tried to change a 20, which was also not accepted, probably because it was new as well. So in the end, my car was still dirty and Britewash, thankfully, did not get any of my money despite my best efforts to give it to them!

The hand operated coin car wash needs 2 coins to get started. I put the coins in but the machine said I still needed to add 4 coins. Thats fine, since I had expected to put around 8.00 in anyway so I added the other 4 + 1 more to make sure I would have enough in there. In return I got 2 minutes of soap. The machine had eaten 6 of the coins and now I was left with a soapy car. I added more coins in so I could get enough water to rinse off my car and in total I got 4 minutes for 15.00. I called the shop (which was closed) and let them know my situation and that they could either call me back and offer me a refund/​free wash or I would write this review on Unilocal.I am writing this a week later.

This place is a joke! For one dollar a minute to wash your car? It takes one minute for any of the chemicals to get going in the wand! Total rip off, and they know it too! Save your money, get yourself a bucket and a rag and avoid this teabag!

We took our Jeep there for the self serve car wash. Good idea as you can really clean the areas of a jeep that an automatic car wash misses.
Downside:
You have to have cash, there is a change machine for bills, but you cannot use credit card.
Instructions are not very clear and so you end up wasting money. So here’s how you can avoid this… You DO NOT have to use every setting. Skip the ones you don’t want because once you select a setting it has to run a minimum of 2.5minutes ($ 2)
Good News: It’s open 24hrs

This review is for the self wash portion of the business, which seems to be ²⁴⁄₇. I thought I was the only crazy one washing my car knowing the weather forecast was going to be rain all week.
$ 2 for every 3 minutes. Change machine on-​site.
$ 2 for vacuum (don’t know how long)
This place makes me wonder if they are rich from toonies. Because, before I knew it, I was popping in toonies every 3 minutes without thinking about it.
I’ve never done the self wash, so bear with me while I explain: soap and water comes out of the same nozzle. There are other options, too, like the foam brush and the Rain-​X or Wax nozzle. I got really confused. I think the best way to go is $ 2 for water rinse & foam brush, then spend a bit of time on your car (no hand-​washing allowed, so leave that shammy in your car) with the foam brush. Then $ 2 for a power rinse and drive over to the vacuums to dry off your car with your own towels and clean up the interior.
Next up I’ll have to try that $ 17+tip car wash over on 2^nd & main to see if it compares to my complicated $ 6 do-​it-​yourself job + $ 1 towel laundry fee.
