Established in 1992, The Burnaby Hearing Centre is owned and operated by Lori Cunningham, who is a certified, dispensing audiologist working since 1987 in hospitals and private settings. History

Established in 1992.

Lori Cunningham worked as a clinical audiologist at a hospital in Toronto from 1987 until 1990. Upon returning home to B.C., she worked as a dispensing audiologist for a private hearing clinic from 1990 until 1992, at which point she decided to embrace the challenge of business ownership and become the sole owner of her own private clinic here in Burnaby, where she has cultivated her business’s growth through word-​of-​mouth referrals. A recent winner of «Best Hearing Centre 2012» and «Best Hearing Specialist 2013», both through popular votes gathered by the Burnaby Newsleader, Lori’s word-​of-​mouth emphasis has clearly served her well. She is now branching out and looking to expand her business again by developing a more extensive online presence and interacting with her clients and prospective clients in a new and integrated way– we look forward to incorporating online feedback and suggestions into our everyday business practices.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Vernon, B.C., Lori Cunningham attended UBC from 1980 – 84, attaining a B.Sc. in biology, then attaining an M.A. in Audiology at Western Washington University. She then worked in a Toronto hospital and a Vancouver private practice before she decided, at 30 years of age, to embrace the challenge of opening her own private practice. She has now been running the Burnaby Hearing Centre as a dispensing audiologist and hearing instrument practitioner for 21 years, and treasures the relationships she has developed with her many clients over the years. Everyone has a story to tell, and Lori has enjoyed hearing her clients tell them– and using her professional calling to help her clients to better hear the stories of others!
