Finally for dessert we headed to the newly opened Café Eggstatic(opened around half a year ago). For their Bird’s Nest Coconut Slush infused with Aloe Vera and topped with red bean. It cost $ 6 including tax which was reasonable for Bird’s Nest. Overall, it tasted mostly like coconut. The aloe vera they used in this concoction tasted different from your usual aloe vera that you find in other drinks. It was very crisp and not sweet at all. The bird’s nest was not easily detected. It tasted very faint. There was also not enough red bean for it to make a difference in the drink either.

Dear staff… please smile. Bubble tea and waffles are supposed to make people happy. I came here since I was in the Metrotown area even though this is not in the mall. The drink itself was okay, however, not a fan of the jelly cubes. I think I will stick to my pearls thanks. Some seating, however, more of a grab and go situation. I came here to do some studying and work on my zine.

Visited the place to check out their specialty birds nest drinks. However, when I went they were already sold out! Pretty disappointing really considering the fact that I was there at 1pm. Onto what I actually ordered, I had their house special green milk tea with pearls. Growing up Taiwanese and a self-proclaimed«bubble tea connoisseur», there was nothing authentic about the taste of their tea. It was mainly sugar and creamer. I will give an extra star though because their pearls were prepared very well in both flavour and texture. The lineup was also very long. All in all, it won’t be a place for me to get bubble tea, but if I’m in Crystal Mall with a sudden craving, this would probably be my first choice.

Café Eggstatic used to be another bubble tea place in the past. This new bubble tea place is selling bubble tea beverages obviously and also egg balls(HK snacks). The quality of the egg balls was not as good as the one at Bubble Waffle Café in Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. The service and pricing at Café Eggstatic were alright. It is located right beside one of the mall entrances and next to an elevator on the ground floor in Crystal Mall. Many traffic from different directions, so it has a lot of customers, which is good for their business. I am not a big fan of bubble tea, so I only bought egg balls for snacks. When I was waiting for the egg balls, I saw many students or younger people liked to buy bubble tea from this place. If this bubble tea place can keep up their quality and service, they should still be able to make money in a long run.

I asked to get their most popular drink, which was the Bird’s Nest Coconut Milk Slush with aloe vera topped with strawberry. I was very surprised with the quality! Tasted very natural and was only lightly sweetened. Super refreshing, and the aloe vera didn’t have too much artificial sweetness, so there was a perfect balance between flavours and textures. Staff were super nice! I also tried the Wheat Germ Milk Tea, but I didn’t order pearls with it, so can’t comment on that, but it was very good as well! Overall definitely impressed with this place, and I plan on coming back again to try some of their other items!

I like their green tea line of drinks, I mean it’s the only line I’ve tried so far. The teas are not the best but decent compare to many bubble tea places in town or nearby the area. Do note that the bubbles are not sweetened(maybe they are but not excessive like some bubble tea place) which I don’t mind at all, as it still has a nice and chewy texture like it is suppose to be. If you do have a sweet tooth you might want to consider requesting for a slightly sweeter drink than the level of sweetness you usually would from other places. Tea — 6⁄10 Bubbles/boba/pearls — 7 But most part of my stars are for the bubble waffles. I ordered their original and all I can say is, wow. it is the best I have had so far in Vancouver. It is crispy, eggy, and delicious all at the same time. I personally think it is better than Bubble Queen and that bubble waffle place in Aberdeen. Even though I only tried the original, I don’t think the other flavor will be that much worse so, definitely going back for bubble waffles. Bubble waffles — 9!

3rd drink from this place. Got the matcha green milk tea which is one of the recommended drinks. Sorry, but each time I go I’m knocking it down by one star. The green tea flavour wasn’t really prominent and I could still taste the green tea powder that was used in making this drink. I will give this place one more try with their bird’s nest coconut slush next time, though I’m really questioning whether I should really spend more money at this bbt joint or somewhere else that I know for sure that will give me my money’s worth.
