Jin Huh, DMD DDS PhD

This review is a long time coming — I was waiting for the feeling to come back in my lip in chin before doing so. But, its been over a year since my surgery and although I’m not completely numb I am still left with some feeling not there and daily discomfort in my left jaw and left side of my lip.
I opted to have my appointment at the end of the day as to not miss a day of work. Unfortunately, when I called there was nothing available on the weekend and I wanted to get this surgery done a bit before my trip home. This, was a big mistake. As someone with blood sugar problems it was a bad idea to not wake up and get it done. I was also left to wait around 30 – 45 minutes after my appointment time. Every second feels like forever when you are not only anxious to get something done but also trying to will your body not to crash due to lack of food and drink.
I was made to stand twice for my x-​rays as they didn’t work the first time — not a huge deal just as I said. was getting anxious. Finally, in the chair, getting prepped well Dr. Huh reviewed my x-​rays. I opted for the 4 in one deal which meant the consult and the x-​rays were free. I also had the sedation on the insistence of my mother. Dr. Jin Huh told me wow my bottom teeth were really impacted, something I knew. something I didn’t that the left one was touching a nerve. But, it would need to come out. There would be some damage. However, he insisted that he would take the utmost care and wouldn’t sever it. Also, there might be some boss loss that would need replacing due to the fact the left tooth was very embedded in my jaw. He showed me something. some bone filler, he might have to use, which he wouldn’t charge me for. Due to his not great english and my nerves — I had a really hard time understanding what was going on.
Thankfully, the nurse came over with the IV. Not long later… I «woke» up. still in that chair, still with my mouth open, and still with him working over me. My sedation had worn off and I started freaking out and crying. He asked me what was wrong. I said I was awake. He didn’t really believe me. I mean its a waking sedation, people say weird things, but 100% was aware I was still having pieces of my tooth extracted. Anyway, it was over soon enough. I was ushered out to my boyfriend and we left. We left without having ice packs on my face, which I hear is something they are suppose to do, and we left without one of those syringes to clean out the holes. which sure enough they got infected on my vacation due to the lack of proper cleaning. I swelled so badly because by the time I got home I was just so tired and didn’t think to ice it. I wasn’t ever really in pain — this I feel was because of my diligence of taking advil consistently. My first few nights I barely slept, the first night I puked — not sure from what. But I did, which freaked me out. worrying if I would get dry sockets or not.
I had such optimism for this surgery and instead I was just another horror story. As I said, it is a year later. I still have the daily pain in my jaw, the tingling in my lip, some days my lip feels really heavy and itchy so I chew it. which of course makes it worse.
I wouldn’t recommend neither tell you not to go here. I think the nerve damage was unavoidable. but I also feel like my sedation shouldn’t have worn off and better after care instructions could have been given.

I got referred here by Kingsgate Dental for my 2 bottom wisdom teeth, and to remove my 3 supernumerary.
I came here for the original consult in August and felt that Dr. Jin Huh was really professional. I was a little nervous because he was very firm when he was checking my teeth but I realized I’d rather have someone with steady hands that is confident with what they’re doing than for him to be gentle and flaky. They gave me a quote for the 5 teeth, and then sent a request for approval to my insurer.
I opted out of the IV sedation and figured I should be able to tolerate the anxiety on my own. The appointment lasted about 45 minutes, I’m still in the process of healing now, Dr Jin Huh is friendly and you can tell that he knows what he’s doing.
Prices were reasonable for the extractions that I had done, and the receptionist did her due diligence to check with my insurance company on how payment should be taken (assignment) before I went in for the extractions.
All in all I had a great experience (I mean as great as it can be to have 5 teeth removed in one go!) and the office is pretty relaxing. Soft slow music that would put you to sleep if your mouth wasn’t wide open and frozen haha and there’s cool action figures all over the office.
I would recommend Dr. Jin Huh to people who have out of the ordinary extractions or anxiety about dental work!
