Wahhhhh… I’m so sad that this place closed down! They’ve been replaced by Noble Café! Their sizzling steaks were ah-mazing!!! And their taiwanese style omurices were my favourite. Why oh why did they close? Their fried squid *was* massive, and super yummy. I guess it’s too late now, my friends.

I came here on a meet up a few months back(non food related meet up). It’s cheap, decent portions and in a way comfort food. I had a basic noodle skillit which was okay. Nothing to write home about but it did hit the spot. The service was good.

Get the chicken nuggets, they are amazing. Food is authentically Taiwanese, so beef noodles soup is great but on the salty side for many westerners. Japanese style squid was sweet and not very Japanese, wouldn’t order again. Calpis is a touch watery but tastes very nice. Service is weak(very weak by western standards, a little subpar for Asian restaurant standards). Décor is terrible, but signage on the door says upgrades are coming. Would return for a quick snack of nuggets and soup. Adequate quick, value-priced food with cafeteria level service. Sometimes you get what you pay for and ain’t nothing wrong with that.

With a restaurant name that boldly says they are great, I had to satisfy my curiosity to see if this place does deserve its name. The restaurant is relatively new, which is why I think there’s so few reviews as of this writing. Food-wise I would say it’s about 3.5 to 4 stars. I tried the popcorn chicken and the iron plate beef steak. Those two dishes seems to be popular judging by what I saw others eat. The $ 8 chicken was flavorful and was crispy on the outside yet tender inside. I wouldn’t say they are the best but still it didn’t disappoint. For $ 13, steak dish came with a choice of noodles or rice, a few pieces of steamed broccoli, one fried small egg, about a 6 oz steak and a small cold cup of sweetened Jasmine tea. The thin grill steak, though not a good cut by any imagination, was cooked tender and juicy. The mushroom gravy was good but a little sweet for my taste. The steamed broccoli, well, what can I say? It’s steamed. The restaurant itself reminds me more like a small coffee shop. It’s narrow and only has ten or so tables. While it’s not a hole in the wall feel, I think the upkeep could be better as it was a bit messy: old papers lying around, the exposed drink making area was crowded and looks disorganized, and the tiled floors were very greasy in the dining room area. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not gross or anything, they just to take more care. Service was typical. Nothing exceptional. While I was there during mid-afternoon, it was pretty dead so the energy level was not there from the lack of customers. Therefore, I couldn’t say if this places gets busy during the more popular hours. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would. The food is worth a try if you’re looking for Taiwanese and want to try a different place in the area. In comparison to The One, a popular Taiwanese restaurant in the area, I think the food at KAG is bit better(though The One has quite a bit more selection). For ambiance and energy, The One is much better.

Delicious! Definitely Taiwanese traditional plate flavor those you can find in the night market of Taiwan! Slush is really huge, and delicious as well. Chicken nuggets are nice too!

Their bubble tea is in such a large quantity. Very good service and atmosphere. Right opposite to Sears across Metrotown.
