McGill Burnaby Public Library

It was one of those libraries where I would get my books when I was growing up in North Burnaby. They added an archives section which allows people to access the history records of Burnaby or anything to be honest. The archives section is great for those who are in record keeping or for those who aspire to be a librarian. They have a good space size for studying. There is also computer access if you did not bring your laptop or your tablet.
I always remember going to the children section and reading the OWL Magazine and also read some short novels when I was in elementary school. There is a mini section for guests to read stories to children
It is a great view of Confederation Park especially during the winter and also during a sunset. I won’t say it is a great way to get romantic because of the view, because there will always be people looking.

Great resources, clean library and helpful staffs.
Large library so there is a lot of study space and it is (usually) very quiet in terms of noise. Free fast wi-​fi and they also have many computer terminals you can use if you don’t have a laptop or tablet.
My favorite thing about the library is that is is centrally located in North Burnaby next to a swimming pool/​fitness centre, a running track and lots of food. Makes for a great study session and efficient day!
Librarians are friendly and will help you find whatever you are looking for. If they don’t have a book on the shelves you can always request from another library and they ship the book for you.
Lots of free parking as well :)

I grew up at this library branch. I still remember the old wooden oak building, small and very very short, as a building. There was this whole fenced off area for the kids book section and it merged with the teens section, with videos on the left as you entered and a great large middle area for story times and great imaginations being created.
The renovations made it very different. For sure now it doesn’t seem as intimate as it used to be. Everything is wide open, the meeting rooms are very large (which is a good thing). I enjoy the new study areas, as there are A LOT within this building and some of them have AMAZING view to see confederation park.
I love coming here when I actually have the time to, or come for research. The parking here is abundant, which is always good. The only thing I don’t like is how loud it is. When it gets loud it gets loud here, especially with the children on the other side, you can still hear the loud noise.
I need to come here more often as the winter approaches. I heard it looks amazing if you look out if it is snowing at night. The running circle looks amazing.
