Metropolis At Metrotown

You can’t come to the mall twice a day or you will get a ticket for your car! I was in the mall to buy some dog food in the morning (1 hr stay) and left, and then I came back to shop. They gave me a warning ticket saying that I exceeded the four hour limit. That’s ridiculous! My stay didn’t last longer than 2 hours in total. So, if you plan to shop for anything in Metrotown, don’t come in twice a day, or don’t come back at all to avoid this stupidity.

The best part about this mall is that it’s easily accessible (right next to Metrotown Station) and has free parking (4 hours). The size of it is good and bad. Good because you will likely find what you need because there are so many stores. Bad because it can take quite awhile for you to get from one side to the other, if that’s where you need to go.
It’s a good mall for your everyday needs; not too many high-​end stores. It’s a big mall, but the interior design is not the best. I don’t mind it too much since I’m usually in there for very practical reasons.
If you are in the mood for it, you can really spend hours on end here — food court, restaurants, move theatre, endless retail shops, hair salons, spas, massage clinic, dentist & optometrist clinics, wine store, florists, superstore, etc. etc. etc.
Fun fact: I recently discovered that they offer free portable phone chargers at the customer service desks. All you have to do is leave a piece of ID and they will give you a portable phone charger to use as you’re walking around in the mall.

Big mall with a great mix of all the big name chains and specialty shops– like Sunny Bonsai! Big chains and groceries include T&T, superstore, shoppers drug mart, toys r ‘us, and close by Price Smart, bed bath & beyond. Also has a lot of service and healthcare shops, so it’s like an old timey downtown– you can drop by and get everything done (groceries, laundry, post office, insurance, clothes shopping, gift shopping!)

Largest mall in BC and 2^nd largest in Canada. Its one of the more convenient malls for me since its just one bus ride away. A wide selection of stores to choose from with a food court (food ain’t cheap here). A bus loop is also located here with a skytrain station above that. The movie theatre, SilverCity, is also located here on the top floor above McDonalds and Superstore. I come here often and would keep coming here in the future unless in forced to move to another place less convenient of this mall.

Thank goodness there was finally free parking here. If you park at Metropolis, they provide you four hours of free parking.
This was the first shopping center I’ve been to in Canada and it was a little disappointing since most of the store were similar to the ones in the USA.
Although, I’m glad that the USD is strong so most things are cheaper.

I’m never a fan of Metropolis at Metrotown. The mall is one of Metro Vancouver’s busiest malls. I only visit this mall once every two years because my optometrist is located in the OG floor of the Sears side of the mall.
On a weekday, seniors occupy the morning and teenagers at night. On the weekends, it’s a family affair. The demographic is ever changing in this mall.
Some improvements were made over the past 10 years, but things have seem to still break down. Today’s visit — all the escalators seemed to be «under repair».
Free wifi, high end shopping and soft chairs attracts many to wait for hours — something I don’t get. If it’s sunny outside, go out and play!

Boring Mall but good selection of stores. Crowded but convenient. Too many kids. Nice hours and open late compare with other malls. Parking and skytrain is convenient. There will be big rivals in the future so Metrotown will need to figure out how to accommodate the growing crowds and create a better experience in the future.

This is our go to mall for just about everything. They have almost every store you can think of. Aside from the ever popular clothing and shoe stores, there are all types of food, salons, grocery stores, dentists, optometrists, spas, car wash, theatres, pet store, engravers, portraits studio, wine shop, barber shops, florists, arcade, chocolatiers, a post office, auto plan, ICBC, the list goes on … and … there … are … no … duplicate … shops!!! Meaning one store for one company.
There is ample park (big in my book). For you non-​drivers, the transit system to get here is superb as well.
The best part? They continue to expand the mall!!!

This is my favourite mall. With over 400 stores it has a lot to choose from. The food court has lots of different places to eat from. Ardene almost always has really good deals. The layout of the mall is beautiful. In the holidays they put up trees and light and it looks amazing. The parking is good but it’s hard to find your way in at times. It’s really close to the skytrain.

This mall blows away most malls with its enormous size and amazing selection of stores! This mall is accessible by car, walking, bus or the sky train. A truly huge and grand building!

My fiancé and I came here on a dreary and rainy Vancouver day, while visiting, to kill time and getaway from the rain.
The mall was bustling. Parking was busy as well which was to be expected. But it was underground, which is nice! And free. bonus!
We weren’t going for anything specific, I noticed a lot of standard stores that you would see across North America. Cleanliness is pretty good.
For those who want to watch a movie, there is a movie theatre available. And oddly enough, a Superstore if you’re in need of groceries!

Variety check. Food court check. Pink berry? Yes. The pet habitat has moved downstairs (since the 90s).
Good hideout from the rain.
Honourable mention to who (m)ever revamped the Sportscheck entrance and the Banana Republic store here.
Sometimes crowded (I have a personal bubble issue) but great place.
Also houses a superstore and Movie theatre and … winners.

Metropolis is the newer part of Metrotown. Movie theater, restaurants, shops etc are all there. Metrotown is the biggest mall in vancouver with numerous stores. I’m sure you can find what you need there! Free parking available at mall.

Metropolis at Metrotown is advertised as BC’s largest shopping center, and it is big. It’s pretty much like most large malls. It is clean, and has a good variety of both stores and eateries. My only complaint is with the huge underground parking area. It was a rainy day when we visited, and the parking area was like a sauna. We had to keep the windshield wipers on even when out of the rain! We had to roll down the side windows to see where we were going — they were totally steamed up from the outside. Then, after we parked, it was a complete mystery as to how to enter the mall. We wandered around until we saw a directional sign. We had the same problem trying to find our car afterwards, even though we had written down the section where we parked.
Ay yay yay!

Now this is «the» mall in greater Vancouver area. It is huge for a Sunday afternoon shopping, big parking lot and wide selection of store.

This mall delights my inner suburbanite!
As an out-​of-​towner, I didn’t realise how big this place was until I went through the directory, more than a handful of stores that I’d shop at, including: Aritzia, Zara, Blue Ruby, Lulu, sephora, T&T, Superstore, Winners/​HomeSense, Max Mara, Browns, etc. Truly a one-​stop-​shop type place!
I think what made it more unique than other malls back home is there not only a wide array of stores (low-​mid/​higher end), but that there are also HUGE grocery/​department type stores as anchors.
Plenty of parking available. My only compliant was that the layout of the mall was a bit weird.

It’s Canada second largest mall. You will be able to find what you need. The mall is always busy. It has almost every store you are looking for.
Close to the skytrain. Convenient.

This mall is much bigger then it looks from the outside. The mall has a fantastic food court which a good variety of offerings. There is a large amount of mall staff (security, cleaning, visitor desks, ect) who are all very approachable and knowledgeable about the stores in the mall. Common areas are kept clean and they have baby changing station and supply booths and first aid kiosks (which I guess is just really a Canada thing– unheard of in the US though!)

Very good diversity of stores so it’s highly unlikely that you’ll leave empty handed unless your goal was to simply loiter about and go for a walk. The best kept secret parking areas are the Sears underground lot (accessed from Kingsway) and the area underneath the «Zellers» lot (nobody EVER parks down there). Only tiff I have with this place, aside from the lack of payphones, which is kind of inconvenient for those from out of town, is that the foodcourt wasn’t as packed when there were originally two; one by T&T and the one by Yogun Fruz. Other than that, pretty good mall.

One of the best, if not the best theatre experiences in the lower mainland.
Great seating, clean, lots of choices
Sky train and lots of transit choices. Free parking is a bonus.
