New Lakeview Seafood & Wunton

This place is so dirty and gross I have no idea how it passed food safe. The washroom is also gross.
The service is not good but I didn’t expect more from a Chinese food restaurant. As long as the food is good I’m happy. What really pissed me off was when I got some raw wontons they tried to tell me it wasn’t raw by explaining how they cook it. I don’t care how you cook your food I’m telling you the wontons are raw. The meat was still pinky red in the centre and it was obvious it was raw but the people there didn’t want to admit it and didn’t want to apologize and then they offer to replace 1 (yes you read right ONE) wonton for me… like wtf!!!
It’s like if you find a spider in your rice they’ll replace a few grains of rice for you. I know I’ll never come back here again.

Admittedly I have only stopped in here once since moving to the area so my review will only be based on that experience. Unfortunately it wasn’t a great one. I stopped in to order take out one day during the lunch rush. I ordered some fried rice which was delicious and super flavourful. My son and I went to town eating it! The service while I was there though was awful. When I walked in the waitstaff looked at me like I had an extra head. They didn’t offer me a place to sit or help me find somewhere out of the way to park my stroller. I constantly felt like I was in the way of someone while consciously trying to make myself smaller. They barely acknowledged me at all. It was really strange standing in a restaurant for 10 minutes plus and feeling like I was a nuisance. I will go back and give New Lakeview another chance but as it stands… they’re lucky they have such delicious food.

Food is delicious! The owner remembers our order because we have been here so often! However, when the staff are having their own meals for the day, be prepared to wait. Because until they are finished eating, your food will not be cooked.

This restaurant has been part of my family’s life whenever we feel lazy to cook, this is where we go. Food has always been great but since we order the sweet and sour pork often, we realized that the coating is really thick so we stopped ordering that. Otherwise, great family restaurant and fast service. Price and serving is great too.

This restaurant gave us the worst customer service. They are not reasonably priced, they overcharged us by 15 dollars. The soup they gave us made me want to vomit. The staff were somewhat friendly. The location is OK to get to but the parking sucks. They gave us the wrong plate of food. We asked for honey garlic boneless pork and received boney pork. I would definitely would not recommend this place.

The food is good itself which is why I’m guessing people go back there but their service is absolutely outrageous and disgusting! Not only are they rude as heck but we waited 20 mins for the food and ask for a water from the beginning and continuously got ignored and just ended up never coming. When it came to paying I always base tip on services so it would rage from 10% to 22% depending how much I think you deserve. After putting in 10% (being nice when I should have given 0) they PRESSURED me to give them 15% saying that was the minimum! There was 3 people at our table including myself. Just terrible. Never again.

I have to say I love this place. Great food. Great price. Friendly workers. I love the beef and brocolli show mein. it is the best!!! and its rice delicious. love it!

Had the flat rice noodle, beef with black bean sauce, sweet and sour pork, Singapore fried rice noodle and tgey were all great. The standout was the flat rice noodles it had a Smokey taste and was so good didn’t take long for it to disappear.

Greatest chinese restaurant in burnaby. Lakeview is the best place to go when your just craving some good old fashion greasy chinese food! This is the only restaurant that i can find that makes a deep fried spicy pork chop!!! Absolutely amazing!!!

Food is good and priced reasonably. But their service isn’t so great. They often seems to have tough time understanding English and ordering for delivery can be quite frustrating. If their food wasn’t so good, I would have given 3 stars.
My recommendations are egg foo young and beef fried rice. They are simply awesome and I order them every time. Also their fortune cookies are always fresh, which is good for fortune cookie lovers.

I used to come here rather frequently with my boyfriend. Usually order the duck lettuce wrap and boneless honey garlic spareribs. Ordered that tonight and got spicy pork chops. It was a waitress I haven’t seen before and she got the item wrong — it said spicy pork chops on the bill. I can’t handle spicy so we sent it back. The order then returned as honey garlic pork chops… Obviously they thought they could throw some honey on the spicy chops, you could see the pepper and flakes still on it. Boyfriend likes spice so he didn’t mind it but it really irritated me. And they forgot the bowl of rice and left that on the bill until we pointed it out. I won’t be going back anytime soon. The bathrooms are cluttered and dirty, too.

Great crab dishes. Just seems like they need a newer/​bigger establishment. It’s crazy busy most days. If you’re not a fan of dirty and old establishments, I recommend not going but rather, get take out. Don’t miss out the food here!

I would give this place a zero star rating, but i’m forced to give it something. So 1 star it is. This is the first & last time i come here! Worst service I’ve EVER had anywhere. Disorganized staff, dirty hole in the wall and the staff is rude! The staff was talking about us as we were waiting for our order to be packed, they didn’t realize we understood what they were saying. After confronting them, they were in shock and the only thing they could say was… please come back. For anyone reading this, stay away from here!

Food is passable for a cheap and dirty experience but this is a rather unhygienic establishment. I wouldn’t repeat.

I ordered take out based on the reviews on Unilocal and unfortunately it didn’t work out.
The restaurant seems pretty popular as it was busy when I went to pick up the food. The restaurant itself seems like a typical family run hole in the wall. They also didn’t seem to have any takeout menus available. One thing I did like was that our food was packed in aluminum trays with cardboard lids; it’s recyclable which is a lot better than foam containers.
I ordered the beef and vegetable chow mein; it was OK but I was expecting crispy noodles but the noodles used were not crispy. I also got the «Diced Chicken with Cashew Nuts or Almond.» I’m going to assume the reason it’s «Cashew Nuts or Almond» is so that they can use whatever they happen to have on hand. I was extremely disappointed in this dish. The chicken was not diced but was large chunks of dark meat that seemed to be a little off. There was also more cashews in the dish than anything else. On the whole, I found this dish to be very unappetizing.
Overall, this restaurant left me with a bad impression and it’s doubtful that I will ever return.

My brother brought me to this restaurant. I thought it was just a typical Chinese Restaurant … I was wrong. I am back with vengeance … I took my family with me to enjoy the «generous» and «tasty» dishes!!!

A good chinese restaurant always will have chinese ppl eating inside! Yup there is! My family has gone here for years for dinners. best peking duck In our opinion, good fatty pork slices with preserved veggies (muichoy kauyook) mmm and I always love their crispy skin chicken and salt pepper prawns! Yum my fav Chinese restaurant. It’s always got a fair amount of pple inside and during weekends is always packed which is a very good sign!
As long as they are open I will continue to come here!

It’s more of a «greasy» Chinese restaurant, so if you’re craving sweet and sour pork and fried stuff, this is the place to go. I’m not a huge fan, but it’s def one of the better Chinese places in BBY/​NW area.
They also have peking duck! It was gooooooood: D
